Need some direction on starting with Δ9 distillate

Hey guys,
I want to start learning how to make Δ9 distillate, mainly to understand the principles and the process behind it. I know people don’t usually share full step-by-step guides, but any pointers, keywords, or general direction would be really appreciated.

I’d like to start small just to get a grasp of how it works. Any info, threads, or advice would help a lot. Thanks in advance!

Plenty of threads with instructions how to

Starting with ?!?

Wich reagents can you buy without issue s would be my first question

Triisobutylaluminium, borontriflouride,

Disilizane,potasiumtertbutoxide

Dcm, hexane, if you can find these you could start tell me wich one you can and I ll send you an basic sop

I don’t think you are actually helping by providing this information

Hmmm I guess we all started somewhere

And I personally started at the bottom of it all bought my first glassware 11 years ago thinking I ll get it done in a Whif

Shit I started with a 2 L boiling flask a 30cm vigreux Colom and a cleassen bridge above to a condensor all on a simple singel stage vac pump little did I know spending money on wrong equipment etc

I have probably taken the roughest path to get where I am now I read so much I I crunched On for nights without end

Places like this forum thought me plenty or at least gave direction where to search

From vacuum grease types to vac oil Neede for pumps etc etc

Read. Every cannabinoids research paper I can get my hand on mostly only understanding 30% of their content and I still feel I only grasp the basics of chemistry, material comparability , engineering etc

But I did master this small field of cannabis chemistry I am living proof that with passion and will you can learn it if you look back on this forum a lot of us started that way small baby steps and often dangerous steps in hign sight maybe not the smartest way but fuck it was fun the panda spinner the shortpath distiller the Cls with N-buna gaskets

The non atex recovery units man I look back at these days with a smile treu I am lucky to be alive I can t and I refeuse to now prevent someone to take the same rocky road I ll help where I can and try to warn and keep all from harm shit that’s what this forum is all about

Again: what is your starting point?

And what does

Mean to YOU?

Are you interested solely in distillation?

Because you’ll first need something TO distill.

Do you know how to extract said distilland, or are you trying to get to D9 from CBD? (@Roguelab’s response assumes this…)

How do you expect folks to guide you without answers to those basic questions?!?

I’d argue that it’s currently unclear whether that counts as helping or not. OP hasn’t actually defined the problem well enough.

I agree it seems like said information is more likely to cause harm that help, especially if it IS what @NaturalBadness is actually asking for. Not being able to frame the question correctly, or respond to clarifying questions certainly doesn’t bode well imo

I want to extract Δ9 from cannabis.

You’re better off hiring a consultant if you have to be taught the entire process front to back and have never done anything in that vein. You will want someone that’ll be there to answer questions whenever needed - pay for the consultant.

Im ready to pay, there s no problem with it, but where can i get one, im in Europe, this is the problem

What scale are you going?

What laboratory skills do you possess?

What equipment do you own?

How much of your time and money are you willing to invest in this project?

Depending on the answers I may be willing to help you for free.

I’m planning to start small but scale up as quickly as possible.

I don’t have any lab experience yet, but I have a strong passion and a genuine desire to learn.

At the moment, I don’t own any equipment since I’m still figuring out where to begin, but I do have the resources to purchase whatever is necessary.

Right now, I’m ready to dedicate all my time to this project.

If you are trying to do this in a commercial setting, a consultant is absolutely worth it.

You are in luck as people on this forum have shared loads of step by step guides, tips and tricks. There is a veritable wealth of knowlege here if you are able to devote some time to searching and reading.

For medium/small scale extraction and distillation, the “bucket tech” is what we used to use:

And then “hot condenser tech” for the distillation part":

That might not be the original thread but it’s full of info.

Edit: Lots of good info here:

I would absolutely take up @TheVanillaGorilla on this offer! From reading his posts it’s clear he knows this process well.

It’s nice to have someone from europe on the forum asking how to make disty the old fashioned way rather then asking how to put synthetic cannabinoids in CBG kief or make trash THC from CBD in an air fryer

Take him up on this. He knows his shit.

If your aim is “distillate” then wrapping your head around extracting with ethanol is your first step. All the info for scaling that from a 16oz canning jar to a 500gal vat and beyond has been posted around here over the years.

I’ve worked hard to cross link relevant threads over those years too.

Dig in.

Start with bucket tek. Learn of pandas. Explore spray washing and solvent recovery. Rotovaps , recovery stills, membranes…

Those are some links to get you started. Follow them. Read entire threads. Explore the links embedded in those threads. Explore the links under the first post.

Intergrate that. And explore the distillation links given above, and you’ll be well on your way. Except for the part where you have to start destroying cannabis in increasingly larger amounts. Which is where the fun starts.

Then talking “distillation” with “scaling quickly” makes some sense. Because you can’t scale distillation without also scaling of your distilland production.

I mixed mine with MCT oil and about 25-30mg per softgel’; made it way easier to dose and worked well without needing much equipment or extra steps.

Welcome @Bootypope.

Guessing you’re not actually running a Pope? (or any other WFE)

Also guessing you missed the part where OP actually wants to learn how to MAKE distillate…

…but the effort taken to create an account so you could share is duly noted.
