I recently had an incident happen at the workplace, a colleague of mine had brought in our batch from the backyard through the front of the house and set it upon the stove resulting in vapors falling and hitting the pilot lights underneath. As I hear him say “—— it’s on fire, it’s on fire!” I think for a second that this is no joke and turn to look down the hall and I all I see is him in flames exiting through the front door.
He managed to save the day by grabbing the Pyrex and hurling the flames away from the house causing instant combustion with flames 17’ high! Luckily he only sustained burns on his arms and singed hair.
I’ve recently gone from outside open blasting to inside open blasting. because of this, I turned all the pilot lights off and have a dehumidifier blowing air from the hallway to the blast area and out the door. I taped up all electric sockets that are in the hallway are there any other suggestions to help ensure a safe extraction?
There are affordable ways to get into extracting open blasting isn’t one of them. If I were you I would get fire insurance some renters insurance if you don’t own the house and prepay for medical care especially at a burn Ward because that is where you are headed
I didn’t think I would have to watch my buddy every second, I just wanted to tell the newer readers about the hazards of solvents and pilot lights. I’m still learning as well but know the principles.
I knew a guy who’s roommate put a spent tube in a the kitchen freezer. 7am the next day it exploded. Fridge blew in to pieces of shrapnel, blew the windows out of the house. They were asleep in their rooms but if they weren’t they’d be in a hole. Safety is so important and you really shouldn’t be fucking around with vapor in or around any residence ever. Put that shit on a electric pancake griddle FAR from any structure and anything electric besides the griddle/extension cord.
When I was 19 or 20 I had a “grow partner” that was pretty aggressive, total dick.
One day when we were using my closed collum bvv tube with the dry ice sleeve open blasting outdoors into Pyrex, then transferring it onto one of those orange BVV heat Matts.
The heat matt decided to stop working, and the way i had it setup the plug and everything was inside but the matt was outside.
I wanted to wait until we could order a new heat matt but he aggressively insisted we used his hot plate with an exposed heating element. Long story short, fireball up to the gutters of the house. I barley dodged it.
I don’t have a problem with the man making money here but I think too many posts are now turning into direct everyone to @Killa12345 for all their needs.
100% I know it’s not you… it’s other users here. I just find it tiring when in every thread about people building any type of column there is an ad for buying your stuff. Nothing personal. I respect the hustle.
There’s a huge difference between @Killa12345 advertising, and forum members recommending new people to @killa12345. And the reason you see it so often is because is by far the best solution.
