Gummy recipe and SOP inside

I am all ears! :cowboy_hat_face:

Love the :cowboy_hat_face:

when I pour and scrape I lay sheets of parchment paper under the molds while I do it in case of dribbles and whatnot, and its convenient in the end- use the same sheet of parchment for the de-molding and drying/curing :ok_hand:

Seems like you put a lot of work into your pectin recipe. We have just begun to work with pectin only gummies. Before we were using pectin to soften the rubber tire that gelatin made and it worked really well. The first 5 test batches came out really nice. Still need some tweaking though. I am very curious about the heat stability. What do you attribute that to? I would assume lack of corn syrup.

I’ve tried both y’all’s gummies—let’s be honest…

Mine are better

Edit: regardless of whether it’s true or not, maybe y’all should stop arguing on a super useful thread.

Just split out the BS

Edit: please don’t post with some kind of mental reassurance that the people, who have the ability, should ā€œjust split out the BSā€ as if you’re entitled to be an asshole here for the sake of winning an argument.

I’m not even the most active post-splitter on this website, you can’t imagine how much time has been spent literally just removing posts that are irrelevant to the conversation at hand.

No one cares who is the best. They come here to look for advice, useful conversations pertinent to the conversation and as-scientific an approach to existing problems in the industry.

I fixed the issue by using Glucose

Never mind, I read a little bit further

It was a Cart farmer question but gelled lines don’t seems fun

adding pectin to gelatin based gummies increases the heat stability, I’d have to dig but as little as 1% substitution of gelatin for pectin gets you an added 20% or so heat stability.

gelatin at low pH can cause syneresis if you’re not careful though

I haven’t dropped any gummy bombs in awhile, so here is a little snippet.

This was a recent DM, I received.

I am trying to increase this SOP to a 3375 ml batch from the 1800 ml. 2.5ml gummies, 225 reservoirs per mold. So my math skills are failing me i think, but I would love your input. I am doubling all ingredient requirements and then reducing it by 6.25%. My thought being just double it 1800 equals 3600…225ml being the difference. 225/3600 = 6.25%.

I have yet to try the formulation but was unsure of my math procedures

I can definitely answer this question and did in their DM… BUT… This is not the best way to go about this problem…

Here’s how we do things now… and … THIS APPLIES TO ALL of OUR PRODUCTS… topicals and edibles .

When you have the recipe that works for you… use that recipe in your molds… as soon as the gummies are removable… remove several and weigh on a quality scale… get the average weight…AND REMEMBER THAT NUMBER…
You will use that number untill you change molds or recipes.

For example… I walk in and tell my guy, let’s make 3000 gummies.

He simply multiples 3000 x 3.5563g for the total amount of material needed.

Then takes that total to the recipe… that is broken down by %%%%%…

No need to account for waste other than from your pocket…lol

Hey MillerliteRN. Your gummies have been very helpful for my father who has parkinsons. Thank you for sharing your knowledge so freely.

Lol… not sure I have a market for them, other than our new 25 year old employee…

They were mad for him @ 500mg each… OUCH

1st time iv had one… not too bad

I see a huge reason to do this to your gummies, if your in a time crunch … hint hint

Those pop rocks or nerds? Pop rocks would be cool to coat a gummy with.

They are knock off Nerds from Amazon… I think $2 per pound I…

A little project that iv been wanting to finish… for awhile now…

These are 100% gelatin, they dont require a coating. They are some what mostly non stick and can be bagged up instantly after de-molding…

So 18 hours after they are made they can be packaged up for retail…

Soft enough that you can chew them, with your tongue and the roof of your mouth!!
