Minnesota regulators announced Tuesday they will be cracking down on retailers who sell illegal cannabis flower ahead of the launch of the state’s recreational marijuana market

Not to be an asshole & disrupt you from posting Cardi B/other bullshit in the music thread, but can you at least post articles in the correct thread they pertain to?

https://www.wyoleg.gov/Legislation/2024/SF0032#:~:text=This%20act%20also%20prohibits%20the,analogs%20and%20isomers%20of%20THC.

Wyoming put a pretty broad ban bill into place, effective 7/1

“THC” means:
(A) Tetrahydrocannabinol, the psychoactive component of the cannabis plant, with the scientific name trans‑delta 9‑tetrahydrocannabinol;
(B) Psychoactive analogs of tetrahydrocannabinol as defined by W.S. 14‑3‑301(a)(xi);
(C) Any psychoactive structural, optical or geometric isomers of tetrahydrocannabinol.
(viii) “Synthetic substance” means any synthetic THC, synthetic cannabinoid or any other drug or psychoactive substance.

Good thing thca isnt psychoactive
(Proceeds to smoke Dab of THCa crystal and get high )

(f) No person or licensee shall:
(i) Produce, process or sell hemp or hemp products containing more than three‑tenths of one percent (0.3%) THC on a dry weight basis when using post‑decarboxylation or another similarly reliable testing method;
(ii) Add, alter, insert or otherwise include any synthetic substance into hemp or hemp products produced, processed or sold in accordance with this chapter.

So it basically ban all similar products like d8

and thca?

So test it with HPLC? Since they changed the legal definition of THC but didnt include specifically any conversion methods for thca to D9 is interesting

In late February, a Lithuanian judge Arūnas Purvaitis sentenced a 21 year old Martynas Simanynas to 2 years and 2 months in prison over illegal posession and distribution of narcotics. The young businessman operated 2 physical stores under a legally registered business „LamaKush“ where he sold CBD cannabis products.

One of the stores was raided by police and products were taken for chemical analysis. It was revealed that some of it exceeded the legal limit of THC by up to 0.33%, totaling up to 0.52%, over 30 times less than commonly found in illegal psychoactive cannabis. The retailer, Martynas, had purchased products from a wholesale Lithuanian distributor and had analysis certificates alleging his products were under the legal limit of THC. Nevertheless, it was revealed that these certificates were issued using a fluid chromatography method unrecognized in the European Union, which often reported lower than actual THC concentrations.

Judge Arūnas Purvaitis, had this to say about his verdict – “This was an intentional crime. In this situation we can’t discuss carelessness. The crime is severe.” He also commented on the legal basis of the case – “The differentiation is very simple – 0.2% is a red line, for criminal responsibility it makes no difference if it‘s 0.3% or 3% over the legal limit”. Curiously, the Lithuanian wholesale distributors who sold the retailer illegal products were not under investigation and weren’t even invited as witnesses to the pre-trial investigation of the retailer.
