I use an engine hoist to lift my solvent tank when I need to move it off of my scale. Definitely better than lifting 250+ lbs. Definitely useful to have for lifting heavy things. It folds up pretty nicely when not in use.
When I used to use a shatter platter I used to use bungee cords on the triclamp bolts attached to something above it to assist assembly. Not recommended and definitely not good practice, but helped me when I was in a time of need. Do not use shear force on bolts rated for tension.
Try telling that to @cyclopath! Despite every effort to prevent it, I’ve seen him do it by himself time and time again. Then again, he’s seen me do it a time or two myself with full kegs at -50ish. Haha.
No most people with a rack mounted system buy a base that has an extrusion valve and mounts directly to the rack so you aren’t sitting there trying to hold a heavy platter to the bottom, you just attach jacketed spools on top.
Bought a used stainless steel wort chiller coil on ebay and when i received the package i noticed the threads were stripped somethin awful.
I had originally decided to cut the threads off and use compression fittings instead, while i was waiting for my compression fittings I started to wonder about how
these cheap 1/4" quarter turn valves make their internal seal so i decided to take one apart and saw that its just a compressed teflon o ring. Simple enough.
So i decided to have some teflon o rings made, I stuck one into a 1/2" to 1/4" reducer and screwed it on tight and the coil no longer has any leaks at 150 psi.
Many times I remember looking for a container that’s the right size to put my tank in…
These are super easy to build to your size and they dont put a heat load on your ice making it last longer.
Just make a cylinder and fold the bottom in
If you use this type of rod for packing tubes, I’ve found that popping a hole in a plastic tri-clamp end and running the rod though it helps to keep most of the keif in the tube (and out of your face) while you’re whacking it with a hammer. It even helps stabilize the rod.
So I spilled a buchner funnel on myself while doing some winterizing. Oil all over clothes, hair, face etc.
When you fuck up…what is your preferred method of removing hash oil from your hair, face etc. Lol I’m not joking.
I found my shave gel actually cut it fairly well but there must be a better option when your getting into the shower after such an experience.
Unsupported vacuum lines, that aren’t fixed, can be problematic. I’ll be making a vacuum manifold at my bench top to avoid this in the future…so I don’t dump funnels of alcohol and hash oil into my face again.
Thank you sir. I have it all on hand. Unfortunately I am already clean via a quick isopropanol wash,
3 different soaps, abrasive hand cleaner, and finally shave gel.
Of course such an event would take place at 12am, after a long day. I walked in the house grumbling and angry…wife comes out half asleep from bed room like WTF…sees me…eyes crazy blood shot…from the iso to the face, I’m all gooey and sticky…pretty angry at myself as well. I’m so lucky she actually loves me lol. She stayed up to go find various potential cleaning agents while I scrubbed away in the shower.
