2nd barrel - drain/staging barrel for transfer
3rd barrel - panda spin with false bottom for suspension collection.

Secondary containment seems like a fine idea. Having not torn one apart, I cannot address the risks associated with getting a Panda’s feet wet.

What makes you think I’m “taking issue”?

There will be several folks showing centrifuges at MJBizcon in NV in a couple of weeks. I happen to be one of them. Prices are likely to range from $20k on up. With $75-100k being the mean (at a guess). Flotwegg wanted almost $300k for the one they showed in Portland a couple of months back.

If you don’t find a Panda in a mash tun amusing against that backdrop, try putting yourself in the shoes of a guy trying to sell one of those 'fuges… make you wanna cry yet?

I come from a long background of “kitchen/bathtub chemistry”, so I respect effective getto design! However, the motor on the panda is open mounted in the bottom, and this makes it look like it will be submerged in ethanol in that pot.

yes, place rings on canning jars loosly then pull full vacuum on the oven. Upon releasing the vacuum in the ove the lids will seal to the jar.

You can also do this if you have a foodsaver canister. Place the mason jar in the foodsaver canister. Vacuum down the canister. Mason jar is sealed too. Foodsaver also makes normal and wide mouth vacuum attachments to seal jars specifically!.

Wide mouth, regular mouth, and a mighty hand pump vac. -25hg is the deepest i can get with the mv.

I’m looking forward to seeing those. I wonder if any of said ‘fuges’ are approaching patent infringement on the CUP. they claim to have one in the works but for what… I have no idea.

Funny story, When delta separations ‘joined forces’ with that MDC Vaccuum company, they made a post on their Instagram (painful looking screenshot repost) the post had mentioned that delta separations had a patent pending on their system (first i heard of it) So when i saw that i happened to be the first to comment on the post and i inquired about the patent out of curiosity saying something like “whoa no way, I didn’t realize you had a patent pending on your system.” obviously wondering what they could patent on a centrifuge as they have been around for years… 5 minutes later, comment was deleted and my account was blocked…

weird way to handle things like that. Makes me wonder how many other people they’ve silenced in order make it look like everyone wants a CUP. Luckily, they cant silence me on Future!

Washing Machine "Salad Spinner" tek

I’ve been using a washing machine for a while now and it works great(just make sure to buy a new one and wash it out before first use). It’s a maytag and it was acting up after a few months of use because of the “auto sensing” features(whatever the hell that does) but you can modify it to spin and pump liquid out whenever you want. Here’s an old chemistry trick before integration was automated. Cut out the peaks and weigh them on a precise scale. For the known cannabinoids use the data at 228 to do this. So you can weigh all the stuff that isn’t cannabinoids together, weigh the cannabinoid peaks and take a weighted average. Mass of peak/total mass of all peaks (I think I got that right, I’ve never done this but heard tell of it in grad school).
