Session Essentials

While I know we’ve got these topics:

I wanted something that was a bit more general targeting things that make your ideal sessions.

Whether it’s a bong from a local artist or a travel case- what are some of your favorite purchases? Let’s shine a light on some artists or brands that might have been previously unknown.

Puffco Proxy Desert on the mat on the left, Old Mate Designs Aroma 3 Grinder above it, Puffco Peak Pro V2 on the center mat, Mad Heaters Reload Gen 2 above it on the left, globe bubbler with a Dynavap helix tip on an adapter above it to the right & an Ispire Wand with a Dynavap M7 XL on the far right:

While I like running my M7 through the bubbler, I’ve found it’s easier to have a dedicated secondary piece when you’re not hitting it native. This adapter goes from 10 to 14 to 18 male & it really gives some strong hits without having a carb like some of the other options out there. The helix tip gives a slightly lighter roast natively, but I found it to be more consistent running it through a piece:

The Reload Gen 2 has become an essential part of my routine with Dynavap style dry herb vapes. Ships with two jars for storage (you can order however many you want to screw on) & a the top portion is a debowler. The underside of the debowler jar & the middle jar have protrusions for tamping the bowl/setting your CCD & the lid has magnets inside & out for cap removal depending on whatever device you’re using. You can also lay your device in the channel with the magnet:

Proxy has been great with the addition of the joystick cap & I’m a sucker for the modularity. While the Pivot is quickly becoming my preferred travel piece, the silicone travel pipe is great for trips where you might want something beefier:

The Aroma 3 is the best grinder I have owned without a doubt. All magnetic/no threads. Made by an Aussie who does this in his downtime when he’s not fielding defense department contracts. Nice weight to it, sharp teeth & incredible action with the ball bearing. Basically once you can create an extended spin with little effort- everything is shredded:

This Kayd Mayd piece holds jars, swabs, an iso vial & a Puffco hot knife. Pretty indispensable for on the go:

The M7 XL was the first Dynavap I purchased & it’s been incredible. I did add a titanium spiral intercooler from Rogue Wax Works & I find the draw is a bit tighter while also making for some thicker vapor. Nice one hit extractions with the Wand & as much as I don’t care for Ispire- that thing is a great induction heater that works with a variety of devices:

I’ll add more as they come to me, but what are some of your favorites?

Cobra coil V2 xxl has been my best buy in quite a while, I wish it was a little deeper though, I still have to torch the neck a bit to get the temp right. I saw someone make aluminum spacers to sit between the quartz and coil and transfer heat that way, I might have to look into that

How do you like the control tower? Yet to try one.

It’s my preference at this point, just kind of a pain to clean. I use a test tube cleaning rack to hold them and rotate through a handful

The beracky/beyond1688 store on dhgate is solid for import versions

Couple of updates on Pivot mouthpieces:

The heady one landed & it’s stunning in person- the contrast between the colors really came out nice personally. Definitely cools the session a bit (very open draw if you’re not feathering the carb), will spin a pearl & lets you rip it more like a traditional pipe.

This one just landed today & it is a massive upgrade. The vapor production is amplified & you can draw much stronger with little to no splashback on the base of the mouthpiece when loading my average sized dab for the chamber- going to give it a few tests loading heavy over the next few days. Will spin a pearl as well. @onetrickponyglass on Instagram

Thanks for sharing! I now want to buy a pivot thanks to your other reviews of it and this post

I saw a post where someone sucked up a hot ruby threw a pivot lol.

On that note what do you guys think of rubies terp pearls etc? I’ve never used one and wondering if I should try it out, I run a peak with a 3DXL.

Saw that as well, but I’m thinking people really must be drawing hard to get a pearl into the mouthpiece.

With the 3D XL, I haven’t really found a need for or advantage to pearls yet as long as you have a good joystick cap. I do like it for the Pivot since you can’t direct the airflow like you would with the joystick.

An essential piece of my setup is my qtip dumpster for sure lol

I’ll disagree, I love my two ruby 4mm pearls in my 3DXL.

Sounds like I’m off to test later. Think I’ve got some spares. You’re running a joystick cap on it?

Yes I am. I feel like the pearls allow me to actually sip the puffco slow but still push the oil around I feel the pearls pushing the dab slowly. I can get it to spin real fast if I need to I find I get a little more flavor if I do it this way.
