Post your last Smash (with Tech)

Today’s squash

DnA genetics ,miss USA .(smells like banana chips with diesel fuel). Definitely like strawberry bananas . Keeper for extracting for sure…
Pressed at 166f
2 minute pre heat
With 7:30 minutes of pressure one click every 30 seconds…

Using 90 micron 2x4.5 bags with 13 grams per bag.

Busted two bags today and noticed the parchment paper kinda absorbed something tacky oil/terps/moisture
Probably too much pressure and time, going to try less time more heat next batch, and hopefully get similar taste…

End of review, pretty flavorful taste, has more candy banana taste when dabbed at a lower 588f , at 610f it’s more of a sweet fuel kinda loses the banana flavor…
well that’s my review, hopefully my rosin diamonds work so I can compare them to the bho version soon

Looks like too much pressure teamed with higher moisture content, or at least that has generally been the case for me when it imprints like that. Some parchment paper also seems to do this more than others. I get more blowouts when the material has more moisture but I’d rather have that problem than dry flower.

Whenever I have a blow out I just collect the rosin real quick then put it back in a 90 micron bag, cut it down to about 2x2 inches then press it again gently at like 140F with barely any pressure. If you cut down the bag size you barely lose any of your yield. Or if you drop down to a 45 micron and go slow it can yield some appealing consistencies and remove all the plant material. Rosin is just play dough for grownups

Definitely higher moisture content I tend to just save them up in the freezer, then use the ninja grinder and soak them in ethanol, instead of repressing , this also allows me to capture waste for food grade.

I meant pressing the rosin a second time on its own to remove the bits of plant material from your rosin. I do the same with my pressed bags. RSO with all the pucks. Gotta love that putrid black sludge

Rather not waste a extra bag honestly and I probably won’t Dab the second press unless it tastes good somehow.

Fresh frozen water hash, heads only smash. 200F, no pressure until 2 minutes, then brought pressure up slowly, maxed at 100 psi at 6 minutes. Made with a Pikes Peak rosin press.

That’s a nice hashing vessel, pretty $$$ though! Please fill us in on how it goes?

Will do had to hold of waiting for my work bags as well as a bigger work table for the freeze dryer that way I could have a bucket Underneath for the drain valve

Beautiful results at what temp did you set it at if you don’t mind me asking?

So the first washed happened and the Ice cream cake popcornnug/shake run came out phenomenal just waiting for it the dry out a little more in the freeze dryer prior to squishing her, anyone have more experience with the freeze dryers I dialed mine in at 50f and pulled vacuum over night and still have a few spots that feel a lil mushy any advice how to dry it better as in different temps or longer pulls?

Nice I did tht last squish at 180 but I just saw another guy on ig running 165 so I’m gunna try tht
What do u mean dialed at 50f ? My dryer gets super cold -40 I think

level your material, try to have close to the same amount of material on each tray. i dont know what the science is behind this but thats how i was taught and i have yet to have a batch retain any moisture. i run 45f, 12 hr dry

45f ? Im confused by the freezdry temp you guys are talking about are you not letting it freeze or are you talking about wen it pulls vac after the freeze? I just hit start on mine never changed anything… should i ?

the temp setting is for the shelves, the unit is going to get to sub zero temps for the first part of the cycle regardless. anywhere between 40-50f should be fine, i think having your material evenly distributed will probably help
