This would be a very different conversation if @spdking didn’t have a demeanor that made him (probably) the most disliked person on the forum.
Foul language, grim nature, and a disgusting personality makes for a hated king. Eventually nobody really cares what he does or what he believes, only how he treats people.
Seriously, what the fuck is wrong with you people flagging every comment spdking tries to post. We understand you hate him, everyone hates him, i hate him. Now let him explain his fucking product for the people who want to know.
I don’t know if this will redirect any comments, but it seems to be a nice system that includes components many of us have been using to make the rotovap more FFE-like
Pros:
Heated and accurately dosed feed will ensure that you are only introducing the minimum feed per unit time. This in turn allows for more efficient evaporation. @cyclopath once told me that maintaining a thin film instead of feeding crude in batches would ensure more efficient separation.
A discharge pump on the condensed solvent will allow for appropriate feed rate if you are feeding a closed loop. I.E. of solvent is being sent back to a chilling component, it can be done so at an appropriate speed.
Cons:
Advertising the condenser as more efficient seems like total BS—how much more efficiency can you squeeze out of a helical coil…I really doubt much more.
No bump trap—they probably just made the vapor portion of this thing a little longer and taller so that gravity was more of a counteractive force, I bet you could bump with deep enough vac/high enough temp.
Finally, I get that we mostly have a negative opinion of @spdking, but he makes some decent equipment and is pretty knowledgeable in this arena—albeit quite arrogant and exaggerat-ive.
All this shit flinging seems to negatively contribute to the community, but that’s just my opinion.
Phil I found myself standing next to you in Vegas at the convention at a booth, you walked up and started talking with another guy I recognized but don’t know, 6’ 4" looong curly hair in suit and tennis shoes. Didn’t wanna interupt, but after reading that last post of yours I should have introduced myself, you’re a solid dude.
I try to promote objective discussion of the gear, though it seems you cant post about columbo, beaker and wrench, summit, or anyone who makes sintered discs without a shitpost fest. Thanks to those who stayed on point.
@TheGratefulPhil the thin film/constant stream method is pretty legit when necessary. I know myself and others have used that method in conjunction with bucket and centrifuge tech as a low cost approach to solvent recovery
I can only imagine, LA overwhelms me in general. My brother has lived there for a couple decades so I’m used to being there, but my new England ass cant handle the never ending sprawl. But damn do y’all have easy access to bomb flower.
LOL that 6’4 dude with long curly hair in a suit with tennis shoes sounds like my biz partner, was this in the cross rows of the delta-sep/AcrossInternational Booths?
Yeah it was at Delta’s booth on Thursday during Future’s stop. I feel like I’ve seen your partner throughout the years at shows, but you know how that is, a lot of archetypes on lot.
16k roto. Sale price is 14k
A 1.5hp chiller is 8800?
A 4c pump is 3500 I believe.
I have a feeling someone gave you the wrong pump. The 12v vario is like 11.5 on its own. There’s three ways to configure the roto. Email me if you need any help. I will correct it if it was entered wrong.
Nothing on the roto, chiller or pump is 3 phase. Sorry for any confusion.
