well i ordered some pentane and going to make a extraction with it, see what happens :–)
Excellent , worth comparing the petane against the etoh u normally use , u washing cold ?
I normally do 2 washes , I’ll have to get the dried material I used smoked see if there’s any THC left in it hahaha
Do you mean if i normally freeze my IPA?
What i did in the past was just freeze a large mason jar full with trims. day later i filled that freezed mason jar up with freezed IPA, stir it for a while, then run i trough a piece of cheese cloth.
Dunno if i can just replace the IPA with pentane and repeat this proces but i guess so. I just wonder if the oil you get left with can then be used for SPD?
Std house freezer so it gets down to say -15 or whatever the freezer is ?

well i ordered 10 liters for 70 euro. I figured if it can’t be used for SPD then at least it will make me a cleaner RSO than what i can fabricate now :–)
But i read some more, and from what i understand it will still dissolve fat and wax
We don’t want it to dissolve fats though do we ? Cos we need to remove them at some point

Pentane is a bad solvent heptane is way better gust need to winterize well

Why is heptane better? Is that not apolair as well?
I promised you coffee I will explain it all but try dissolving some oil in pentane pfff it s hard let alone extracting with it

Fat’s and waxes rite? So you started this with a quick wash with ethanol or IPA rite? And then filtered it?
How far do you cool everything down. I read somewhere it should go as low as -75celsius correct?
I just left in household freezer mate next to to the leg of lamb and frozen chips hahahaha , it’s been there for a couple of weeks but you only need a few days , roguelabs method for removing the chlorophyll really helped , done that last night , just going to reduce the 800ml down , decarb then I’ll go and get the dry ice then do a dry run on SPD
But yes I just do 2 quick washes in cold IPA , 10:1 so for a kilo , I’d use 10litres which In the future I’ll be now putting through the SPD without vacuum to recover , the water distiller I use does it but lose quite a bit due to vapour loss etc , plus it will be safer
