Need gummy recipe (recipe inside)

award winning recipe where you take an already made gummy and melt it down and add a little gelatin…

seems like that award belongs to albanese gummies.

or was the award for easiest to make?

You sure told me.

I’ll make sure not to waste your time by posting anything I consider helpful anymore.

Sorry for being a giant piece of shit in your eyes. Hopefully some day I can make it up to you and win back your respect.

Wow, didnt mean to piss you off, my apologies.

I think simplicity is awesome and making a batch of gummies where you just melt another gummy down seems extremely quick and easy and there is a lot of value to that. but I do feel an award for remelting another persons or companies recipe is a bit unfair to the competition.

wow…

the only one I see calling you a giant piece of shit is you. you’re certainly welcome to grab that end of the stick and beat yourself with it if you like, but that was clearly not @thesk8nmidget’s intent.

you don’t agree that the “awards” belong to the person who came up with original gummy recipe? I suspect you do, and that’s why you grabbed for the wrong end of the stick and started flailing…

melting store bought gummies is absolutely a simple and effective way of getting meds made. I would posit that it’s NOT the most economical way of producing wholesale quantities.

I’ve worked with a company that actually paid someone to hand sort (by color/flavor) store bought gummies before melting and adding cannabinoids. They had just fired their kitchen witch, and he took his recipe with him. To my knowledge they never entered any of those into competitions, and they did come up with another in-house recipe eventually. mainly because of push back from the folks in the kitchen…who had to detail the math iirc.

Made this recipe last night and they came out Looking cloudy, any way to make them clearer? More food coloring, water, higher temp? Or is this how they’ll always look? Followed Killas recipe other then that they came out :fire::fire::fire:

Kinda looks like seperation. Or in cooking terms, curdled (like when you have too much heat on dairy item and it seperates).

Possibly even not mixed thoroughly and it finished/hardened seperated.

When you added heated the everything did it go clear as in the gelatine mix and the sugar mix. If neither one was clear and streak free. Then you can get cloudy gummies

Pull them out of the trays. If the bottom is clear and the top is that color it’s just the foam.

The gelatin was clear I added the foam in it aswell but I did notice when I added the water to the powdered gelatin it turned into clumps. Should it be more like a apple sauce consistency? The sugar mix was not as clear.

So you’re whisking the gelatin powder into the water and then melting it in the same vessel?

once gelatin is bloomed in bowl, put said mixture into sous vide bag, and heat up in sous vide bath

how do u mix? by hand or with a handheld device? by hand/gentle mixing is more beneficial. the more aggressive methods seems to for sure adds alot of air into the mix.

So it’s been long enough @YYCMMJ…How’s the panner doing for you?

the DIY panner did function for a bit… not being centered, no good. if you are making over 1000 a day, it miiiight help. but its all super easy and cheap by hand.

but, it is an item a commercial kitchen needs.

I put my water in zip lock back then pour all the geletin in the bag at once and quickly mix the bag by hand to ensure all the powder gets absorbed in the water. you have about 30 seconds to do it. then i put it back in the sous vide water bath and let it set for 20 minutes then take it out and mix it by hand again, essentially just kneading the ziplock bag to get rid of any clumps.

Yea, I think we may have to invest in one soon. Unfortunately there are a few pricie items ahead of it on that list. As far as “gentle mixing”…man stir the ever loving shit out of it! I blend ours for close to 8 minutes total. 4 minutes before it sets up and 4 minutes after heating. There is no air bubbles if you use the right size dish with the appropriate amount of batter.
Hand mixing was inefficient for us, wasting $65.00 on potency test.
We dont do 1000 a day, but we do 14000 in a day.

Just got 4lbs albanese gummy bears in today. I’m still (after 5 weeks) waiting on my geletan to get to my door.

So gonna melt 1lb albanese gummies down in a double boiler, add distillate, mix like mad, fill silicone molds and hope for the best.

Gonna get a super forearm workout mixing this stuff up. Brings back memories making hollandaise sauce or the like.

They might be soft if you don’t add more gelatin. That was my results from melting down haribo gummies and trying to remold
