Color me bold then, but I test this stuff for a living and have not seen +30% total THC (after factoring decarb) in even the dankest samples. Now sure I could scrape off some kief and itll test at +30% but that is not the whole flower.
It would be pretty bold to assume one third of a sample is THC… especially when you can see the stem and leaf. That shit should look like glazed donuts at 1/3 by weight sticky ass THC.
I have once seen 29% total THC, once. And that was hands down the dankest stuff I have ever seen. Indoor and CO2 pumped during the grow, flowered long. Probably did some voodoo nails into the trunk or something too, crazy neckbeards and their boutique grows. But I have also tested “37%” total THC from a rec shop that ended up 23% and did that in triplicate just to make sure… fucking 20$/g BS.
Watch yourself out there folks, lots of people trying to get your wallet papers.
Yes looks close. Should look like a fuzzy catipilar of triches, almost no green. Keep in mind pure trichomes are like 50-55% total THC… so that means 30% flower needs to be 60% trichomes. A tall order for any plant. Cannabis is a beast though.
I would agree, mostly it’s BS but it is possible. It was quite the stuff! Ghost Train Haze. I gave it to some old hippies and their heads were spinning lol.
Sure the gene pool has been inundated with superfluous hybrids (with sativa-dominant or indica-dominant being all that’s available at dispensaries) but indica, sativa, ruderalis and hemp are all species of the family; Cannabaceae - genus; Cannabis, which are still cultivated today.
I would agree with him. The genetics today are too interbred. It’s possible to find old genetics and that could be a true Indica/Sativa, but that would only get you a cultivar that grows the way you expect it should. You’ll always have some indicas which are uppers and some that are more sedative.
Their DNA/allozyme frequencies and morphological architecture are the primary differences, but there’s definitely stark differences in the effects elicited. I’m not sure when science will finally identify the chemical constituents that actually establish those differences, but it’s entirely plausible that there are unknown cannabinoids that have not yet been discovered which are more prevalent in one species vs another. The recently discovered THCP is a great example.
Gotcha. It would be awesome if they could determine if terpenes from combusted cannabis are in fact definitively eliciting appreciable effects at downstream receptors such as 5-HT/DA/TRPV, ect, but the data is lacking thus far. One thing’s for sure though, terpenes definitely are not eliciting any psychotropic effects at CB1.
It certainly does something though, you get a rush when you smell it, and when it hits the pallet as well. Nothing like a great oral coating effect and some lip smacking goodness.
People who know little about cannabis always ask this about edibles and it’s tiresome to explain that if you’re starting from a refined oil you won’t see much difference unless they want added noids
