Im about as slow as slow gets. Ive only been able to produce about 250ml per hour tops. Like a turtle
98 minutes in and alk beam test is identical
You just confirmed what I have suspected. SO MANY of these SOPs have insane RXN times, yet just using my eyes and my head, I have yet to see any difference in the longer vs shorter (30min) run time. Which begs the question, why do the SOPs call for such long RXN time??
My only guess is the cyclization process (CBD:D9:D8). I’m noticing the longer ones are producing CBN. Mine never did. Longest run was 3 hours and I believe that the 10% unknowns was just D9 in mid flux or an iso formed.
The 3 hour run alk test at the 2 hour mark did shift to lighter then an hour before and 3 hours was almost water clear. That run yielded 90% D8 and 2% D9.
What were your numbers at the 30 minute mark after exothermic reaction?
Did you let the exothermic reaction do it’s thing then cool off, then ramp? Or, did ya just keep it at the spike temp for 30 minutes?
My first try rxn was 4 hours and yielded yellow clear. 88% d8 and 10% d9 with 2% cbn. Analysis was done in-house with our hplc, but probably not the most accurate. Who knows?
Ahhhh… the good ole days
Did you keep it at 90c for the 4 hours once the exothermic reaction was done?
Yes. Refluxed for 4 long
dayum looks really good
I let it spike and then settle back to 60C for the remainder of the rxn. We are doing our washes now. The 2 bicarb washes pulled most of the contaminants, while the NaCl did not pull much at all. We are doing another bicarb just to see if the basic conditions pull any more.
What were your end numbers for the 30 minute run?
I’m wondering if I either overshot the one I did before OR not long enough?
Fuck ups all in the name of SCIENCE!
Beautiful! Well done! Nice recovery from the chiller oof.
Thanks. This is a good time.
Well…chiller has faulted. Researching why…
No shit…Im using a Craftsman paint stripper to keep my condenser hot. FFS
Shits like the stock market!
“Do I sell now? Do I hold?”
AGHHHHHH
