Does anyone know if the celite is necessary to have as the filter bed or will just t-5 work? I also have t-41 as well but no celite
Dude celite is cheap cheap, just buy that or buy filter papers.
$20 for a kilo that will last you a long time
I only have one sintered disc. What are these solid rings you speak of?
I usually get these
These let you add one more filter to a filter plate.
So you set a ring down on ur welded diskā¦then the plate w holes, then a filter papers oversized for the center, then shove the last solid ring down over the paper and press it til it bottoms out, I have block wood and I use more rings to place on it to hit w rubber mallet. I get a tight seal. I use 2 papers for tighter seal
I have a set of these for every filter plate I own⦠I even use these in hemi reducer for extra filter plate
Paired w this you can get 2 solid filter plates out on tri clamp plate. These require filter papers. Stage from fast papers to slow papers before the welded disk. Will keep your disk from getting clogged and working so much
Itās already so cheap and last so long, @Killa12345 has my business.
But yeah, thatās cheeeeeap
Didnāt know he carried celite now⦠That was what I was directed to get back then
Iād get celite from Killa then for sure
You need to realize the celite or d.e. is a must. This is your first step/ filter that keeps the main of the powders back
Yeah killa hot your back for powders. Hes at bizcon but always does a discount for items ordered while he is outta the office⦠IDK how cause he sells a kg for like 100 less than Xtractor greentax depotā¦
Yeah I love quality stainless parts and get my other powders there. Super fast shipping and awesome guy. Do you guys know if I can use the diamatecous earth from Loweās for the time being until I get DE from killa?
Shouldnāt we doing filter cakes like they do for buchner funnels, as in making a slurry with the celite, then running that through your filter setup until things run clear?
Be ware of your powder supplyer, some powders are not properly seived, this can result in fines much smaller than you were anticipating.
Depending on where it was mined it can contain heavy metals and other junk.
So these will fit inside a typical sintered disc or filter stack?
Yeah you buy the size according to your filter stack tri clamp size
You can do it this way, it works great. But for cls I press it in with a wood puck made to fit inside my 3ā column
For a 6 inch column would you guys recommend going with the 5.91 inch Whatman 2.5 um papers or the best value vacs 7.09 inches 2.5 um?
always buy a bigger size than your crc column. 5.9 too smallā¦
