Did the unknown one settle or remain a cloud
I honestly wish I heard more people talking about verifying their end product doesnāt have media in it with solubility tests.
It seemed that there was some of it in there but Iām not totally sure. I heated up alcohol and it seemed there was some in but couldnāt totally tell. Iām going to do some more tests tomorrow and get back to you guys.
If your in doubt u need to redissolve it all and refilter. If not trash it
And 1 micron filter should do the trick for that right?
Technically w papers seated properly a 2-4um should do fine
My partner was looking online and found some powder to mesh size charts. Looks like the 200-400 silica should easily get screened out by a 5 micron.
Where does it say that?
200-400 mesh size
The carbon chemistry silica 60a I use is 200-400 mesh. I also am not sure if the micron is less effective under pressure since I use nitrogen to push into collection tank? Maybe @Shadownaught can chime in
How many plates did you have and how are you sitting your filter papers
I have to tap my solid rings down with a piece of wood in a rubber mallet to get them in⦠To get out after i turned around and smack the inside with a piece of wood are wedge so tight after soaking them in alcohol
I believe what weāre dealing with thatās sneaking by is silica dust, the fine particulate. The shit we see catch air
.01um-100um
Making it past your t5 and celite or diatomaceous earth? And none of them makes it through?
No making it through his 5um filter
Right but in order to do that it has to travel through his t5, then the d.e/celite bed. Otherwise your not stacking the powders right. Just hard to believe silica only makes it through all those powders then all the filter plates after that
Otherwise itās silica , t5,de/celite, then filter papers ,papers, papers , finally metal disk if you have. Donāt put powders directly on welded disk. Make stages filters before it. Then you have powders and papers working together
Yes, absolutely correct. He used silica as the filter bed on a 5um filter. Thatās why heās having trouble
Dead ringer then.
Powder order matters,. They help keep each other in. Then stage ur filters to make it flow better
Lmao⦠ding ding ding!!!
Donāt see how ppl come up w these ideasā¦
But I was also the one to run a cls a hundred the hardest ways before getting the easiest path down
Weāve all been there. If we didnāt make mistakes, we wouldnāt learn. Guarantee this doesnāt happen to @mr_pickles again
