You probably just have that much in it. Shit dude you put silica above a 5 micron filter… that’s silica
I apologize for being snarky there. It may not be the standard like I said, but it’s definitely in the crc process to keep all the other powders back
I know this is just for conversations sake, I’ve just seen so many people skip that step and I can’t rap my brain around why? Shit some people are just tossing celite into their sintered filters without even using paper… ![]()
@Soxlet made the tek and doesnt use it.
Ita wasnt snarky. Im just enjoying our conversation
I dont use celite or de. Just -78 tane
If I put t-5 or t-41 on the bottom would that help? Instead of it on the top
Lol I am the ass hole here today! If you don’t stage filtration paper and use a sintered disc correctly you should absolutely use celite
I layer t5, t41 and silica on top of a 25 um paper
You want the smallest partivle size on top. Tapering down to the largest particle size. So finer powder on top
What’s your filtration like after that?
Then my filter stack is 6um paper, 5um disc, 2.5 um paper, and 1 um disc. And if need be .45paper
Up a couple post
How do you run yours? Is there a way I could stage it with filter paper without using the celite and stop the silica from coming through? Like silica then coffee filter then t-5 then coffee filter then sintered disc?
That’s why yours works without celite. Your filtration is low enough in micron that it works perfectly
Buy filter paper off amazon And more filter stacks. It’s a trade off, celite, or staged filter paper like @sonicgardens
Wotgout celite You will need actaul lab filter paper. Non coffee filters
Read my post a couple up
I get whataman papers on amazon or sterliteck
Me too!
Samesies
I noticed without a jacket keeping things frozen.
the speed was slow down so much I pulled fats that was polished and look something like that.
But if you not it’s powders I wouldn’t second guess it…
Ethanol test should tell
