There’s 2 micron pore sized screens on Amazon that I have, I am going to try them soon enough.
Unfortunately they only have a 1.5 size though.
Fyi @clouds and I have talked about this stuff before. We’re smaller processors, for personal use, so we’ve had to somewhat diy things due to smaller spool sizes.

Not using celite as of now, I just hadn’t ordered it with my first batch of media. I have a shopping cart with Killa filled rn with celite and other media and some of his disks as well. Ive had DE at the bottom as well as t5/bentonite, and magnesol.
The first crc runs I ever did were all magnesol top to bottom. Basically tried them all except silica at the bottom. And the celite.
Do you find less clogs with the celite setup? How often do you have to clean your sintered this way?
celite / DE are the same thing basically, i think celite does a better job at filtering at the end compared to other forms of DE, there’s more talk in the thread about that somewhere, I’m by no means an expert on any of this stuff yet.
I don’t run into clogs, but I’m also only running a 1/4lb system, so I’m not sure how any of that would apply to bigger setups. I do have a slower flow, but I’m almost positive it was due to having too much B80 in the column above. My celite layer is maybe 2mm thick sandwiched between papers so I highly doubt that would slow anything down.
As far as cleaning, I haven’t had to clean it yet. My bottom filter stack that has the celite, sintered disc, and 2 layers of paper is always completely clean and looks like it did when I put it in there.
I run another regular filter stack above that with 2 papers separated by rings. These papers tend to catch everything so far and nothing makes it into the one below. This is really the only part I have to clean for each run other than the collection pot.
Above that I just have a 6" column I load with some B80 and place it right after the material column

It’s been working great for my setup, removes like 85% of color and takes the harshness out of the lemon strains.
I don’t soak or anything, just run room temp ice chilled solvent and inject with the valves open like 1/5th of the way to let it slowly run through

@ScoopDiamonds bottom line is PERIOD, that disk did not hold the pressure that @N.B.OLER claims them to hold PSI wise… PSI should be held/tested in BOTH directions… if its blowing out at 40psi then theres a SERIOUS issue with the manufacturing/welding of these plates and ALL of them sold could be at risk. you should get a free plate PERIOD for downtime $ lost, along with paying $800 for something to fail a test it SHOULDNT have, and third put you at risk of danger. 200% should be compensated for this experience. its about a business doing the RIGHT thing not the $$$ @N.B.OLER fix this my man…

What micron disk are you running? As well as what filtration above it? (To keep media off sintered disk)
Would the acetone be capable of dissolving the powders or something?? Even then, after it evaporated they would reside still, no?
I’m failing to see how it will remove the 2 micron and smaller particles that work their way into the sintered metal disk, or even the one’s resting on top
Yup, just run multiple papers from 12um down to 1-3um. It’s all about redundancy to keep things safe.

No sintered disc. But I did measure my column and machine rings to get a proper fit on my filter papers. If your rings are too loose…powders will pass. Runs like a champ with a proper fit of .015 radial clearance.
I do run 4 filters, top to bottom 50um, 20um, 1um, 1um.

Teflon tape can make loose rings leakproof. Cheap, easy, chemically resistant.

I need a 12in sintered filer stack hoping to get a 1um or 2um unit.
With the C.R.C. Spool are you able to use passive systems or what do you use to help push it through the materials?
Without welds that’s gonna be bad

I would now have nitrogen introduce to my solvent, how would I remove that from the system? Would I have to replace my solvents more often, not sure how nitrogen works with the closed loop system
@Junker I think you have some research to do before even attempting nitrogen assist or c.r.c. runs I’d start here. Nitrogen assist assistance

Seems like a lot of post but there are a thread here that explain how to use a CLS, CRC and Nitro push safely. Comb thru them and get a general understanding before you run it.
