Indofabs C.R.C & BHO Color Remediation Tek

whats your take on using N2 to push.
of course start in small increments then increase as needed until first signs of flow into collection vessel.

I would consider it necessary @Cebas

I use nitrogen assist when my vapor pressure isn’t high enough to push through

start low and see where you flow!

Hows it look? The color turned out really good on this one.

looks good!:+1:

@Roguelab we’ve noticed that if you increase the amount of activated alumina it seems to reduce the red color quite a bit however we aren’t working with pentane so there could be some differences there.

This was ran from mostly kief mixed with some sugar leaf and w/o using any alumina and you can clearly see the how much red came through. After adjusting the amount of each filter and adding the alumina we achieved a much lighter product without red tints. The reds actually look pretty cool IMO but less color is the ultimate goal.

Anyone play with using filter combos to select for specific color outcomes of extracts?

Many flavonoids and such are red

This was for a client who produces an insane amount of kief so the runs are mostly kief with a little sugar leaf. The kief runs are about 6800g per run and take a while. The kief has soooo much surface area exposed that is has a lot more oxidized pigments. That’s what our guess is for why it comes out this red without proper filtration.

We’ve compared this side by side to the next run that was same material but adjusting the filters to remove the red and didn’t notice a difference in how it dabbed. One was less red then the other… that was the only really noticeable difference. That being said I would still choose the less red version. The lighter color is more appealing to look at. We eat with our eyes, that’s why food presentation is a thing.

What the hell I wonder what this would work on…

Haha well after so many runs with the crc I finally wanted to try to get the water clear color for a personal stash instead of the live resin yellow I’ve been doing, it’s pretty damn close This one came out super stable, on the flip it completely cracked into pieces. 4x48 column. 200g t5, 150g silica, 150g activated alumina. And a 100g of the “OG Mix” since I still have some and it did do something the first time I used it
