its more important than ever to grow more produce

i think a brilliant idea to start a business focusing on sustainable greenhouse agriculture .
idea being a greenhouse heated and cooled via geothermal so you can grow year round anywhere below the artic circle. solar and wind energy to power extra lighting in the winter. hydro to use 90% less water what do you guys think?

Shhhhhhh they’re listening

Edit: kinda looks like that fraggle rock dude

who will eat the food you grow on antarctica? how will you bring it to them? On sailboats full of hippies? And how do you keep from falling off the edge of flat earth?
I misread arctic circle oops I think if people have water they can grow food. its an issue of water. People need to move away from places that have dried up. That means all you californians. I know all the food is grown there but- the global warming.

Pears are doing well this year. Hard winter prune 2 years ago, I think it helped a lot.

Anything you can do for trees struggling to fruit because of low light? I have three fruit trees in my front yard.

The apple tree has 2 apples and one of the pear trees has 2 pears on it.

Throw a couple of de’s on them
I couldn’t help it. Are they on the north slope or bigger trees shading them

Both, my yard is covered in 100’ big leaf maples.

Fall is a bitch

Can you limb up the Maples any to create more light? A lot of fruit trees don’t require all day sun. Mine probably get 8-9 hrs of light.

How old are they? Have they been pruned recently?

I know nothing about pruning fruit trees. The maples are about to get thinned and have the dead cleaned out of them. Maybe it’ll allow for some more sun

That will help for sure, also a good winter pruning will help.

Top the upper branches at the level you want to be climbing to pick. Then take out the middle branches growing inward to open up the middle.
