That is a glorious zucchini. I spent time building the humus, chitosan and silica in my soil and had to kill all my summer squash due to powdery mildew.
Cayuga and magpie! Sorry I never answered whoops
Were you watering with a sprinkler? Summer squash hate having wet leaves. PM every time I’ve ever gotten them wet. Can’t remember a season where my squash didn’t have PM, but if a particular leaf has (what I quantify as too much) on it, I’ll take the leaf instead of the whole plant.
No, Michigan.
They were a loss.
Bummer.
My girlfriend’s first two cows. On the left is a holstein dairy steer, the meat is noticeably leaner. On the right is a “brangus,” brahma/angus cross. Chuck was a lean guy, too, but not as lean as the holstein.
I don’t eat many plants, but when I do they are typically fermented / pickled.
Sauerkraut with this harvest, Kimchi with the next
What’s a garlic scrape? Never heard of it before, but the jars all look good enough to eat
Raspberries, currants, wild strawberry, and gooseberries ready for making a special test batch of sauces.
Garlic scapes are the stem and flower bud of a hardneck garlic plant.
Awesome! Never heard of it before, but my love for all things garlic might require that I grow some garlic specifically for scrapes.
When I was living in NY garlic grew amazingly well there, but I’ve never tried growing it in Florida
I’m not sure if we have a fishing thread, but here’s a chart showing the differences between species of salmon
I never knew we had salmon in chicago till I knew. We have big chinook, lake trout, steelhead/rainbow, coho, All right on the shore in chicago. I know i called a trout a salmonid but ndg calls fish fishes. Thats some science shit, ill bet if you showed the best botanist freakshow he would be clueless.= he would name it after himself.
