Dry ice thermometer

So cold (only?) AFTER extraction?

As in “winterization”?

Getting my solvent cold and not picking up anything that was insoluble at XX temp has always looked like the shortest route to me.

Get it colder than XX temp, because I just can’t extract any colder, but I can chill and filter colder, and there is still stuff I think I want out? Sure.

Reduce solvent volume before winterizing? Probably makes sense in most cases. Depends how you optimized your extraction solvent volume.

Iirc you mention 12lb in 10gal with expected 500g yield?

If I was going to winterize 500g, I would dissolve it in about a gal of ethanol. Not 10 (or 8 or whatever you get back).

1gal = 3.75liters. 3.75/0.5 = 7.5:1 solvent extract ratio
