Clones

I took some cuts this year from outdoor plants, and had no issues. Using root riot type plugs and rooting powder.

Someone gave me a big cut of Bruce Banner in a solo cup of water, and I took 5 clones from it. Even a really small one made it.

At what part of the life of the plant did you take clones, late veg off developed plant, early veg, early flower?

It was late veg off a developed plant.

Did the plant show any signs of heat stress prior to taking clones?

I don’t think so. I watered it every day. It was in a fabric pot. Here is a pic of the rusty stuff that grew on the clones.

Looks llike spider mites on the tips.

Russet mites are members of the eriophyid family of mites. Unlike spider mites, which have four pairs of legs, russet mites have two pairs of legs. They look like small translucent cylinders that are tapered on one end. Some growers say they look like a miniature Jabba the Hutt, from Star Wars

I would require slightly higher mag & or video to be unequivocal.

Setting up this rack for 10 ezclone lo pro 128’s. I have been looking for some strip LED’s. These tjat i ordered from Amazon dont look so hot. Tjey are 4 bars and come with an independent timer I dont see them as bright enough but i will need to check with the par meter. They have more red than white which is a negative for me but you can turn them off.

@BG305 I put together an almost identical racking system for my clones. I found it was necessary for my setup to place a layer of Styrofoam under each clone box to take away the heat from the light that was attached for the shelf of clones below, otherwise the clones where suffering from too much heat. works fine now and the racks save a lot of space

Thats not a bad idea. What lights did you use?

Love those costco racks, nice setup.

I have clone trays on a 2x4 rack.

One shelf has 4 4ft T5 LED bulbs.

Another shelf has 3 x 45watt LED panels.

I have heating mats under each shelf, but I only need to use them in winter.

I took some clones from an outside plant and wanted to isolate them, so I just put the 45 watt LED panel right on the humidity dome. Plants in the center rooted faster than I am used to.

@BG305 I have tried all sorts of different lights. At first I was using some left over 4’ KIND Veg Bars, Then switched to some 4 tube T5 florescent Gro Tubes, I have finally settled on some good ole dual tube T8 Gro Tubes and I think that has become the ticket for me. For now I am actually getting 100% successful rooting, but that will probably not hold as I have a tendency to have to relearn over and over and over… a mistake is not a mistake if I learn from it… it turns from a mistake into just another lesson learned!!

picked these up on Amazon for $25 but they also sell 4 for $80. At first use I like them because of the slim profile.

We use those white stick leds you have on that shelf with similar set up and get good rooting rates. Simple led shop lights as they are advertised. Just zip tied directly to the rack. No heat issues noticed.

Thats what im looking to get going. They really don’t need much light during the rooting phase just the 18/6 schedule.

I don’t even think 18_6 is required. I had a few clones I cut and left in indirect light in the flower room at 12/12 out of laziness. They rooted faster then clones that were in the veg. The new growth was flower growth not veg growth until they were placed under 18-6. Afterwards I recalled exotic genetic Mike saying that’s how he pheno hunts new strains. Throw the seed directly into 12/12 saves time in filtering

I had thought reverting back from flower to veg carries with it a loss of potency, but I have not verified that idea.

Monster cropping. It doesn’t loose an vigor. Just grows weird.
