Butane Extractors! What needs to be automated?

Licensed extractors are the only people really buying gear nowadays so if you were serious about selling your unit it would have to be peer reviewed.

I can have that arranged with 3p certz. Otherwise it will be in March hopefully that I build the second.

post pics when its ready

I’d be interested in seeing pics and details. Sounds like my kind of overengineered crazy.

Evacuate, if you want to live…

presumably it can also request more cannabis?

It puts the cannabis in the tube, or else it gets the hose again!

sounds like my kinda bot too

(are you paying attention @LunaTechnologies?)

you get it :+1:

What be a game changer, if some one can incorporate an automated on demand pigment tracker, where it connected to a needle valve , so in production, if something doesn’t gonna be hit so hard it automatically by passes the column or throttle to what it need to be for an acceptable level for the client… would love to see this

I think I know where you where headed with this but it definitely requires some clarification

Remediation , if ur running a stinger in ur crc call column u could run a boof dry run remediate, clean the evaporator out after first run, and then load up a fire FF run and by pass the crc column cause if it true ff u don’t need it , so u can salvage the terps

To expand on the idea, have multiple Columns with possibility to route based on user choice. For example one column of heady magic dirt for the FF and an alternate column with most aggressive dirt for floor sweepings

Most don’t have near that phase change up their sleeves….for some strange reason.

Sounds like we’re asking the robot to figure out what the monkey loaded? On the fly?

That’s not where I’d start. Operator should be able to figure out the difference between FF and FTF (from the floor), and select the right recipe. Given monkeys proven ability to misread, I concede that teaching the robot to double check isn’t without merit.

It should however FIRST be taught to

or what ever cut off value is thermodymagically most apropos.

And then taught to use a

to increase/decrease residence time in the CRC column so the selected color is achieved (training data will be required, there are better ways of hitting desired color).

Both of those are recipe driven, issue is the appropriate sensor so the robot can make informed decisions….

We’re looking at a $50k NIR based sensor next.

Although scuttlebutt says we’re gonna give the arometrix extraction finder one more shot at it…

A highish precision Coriolis meter should be able to get you within spitting distance of a valid answer to “are we picking up any more stuff” though it can’t tell you if you’re specifically getting more cannabinoids.

$10k or less.

Mine isn’t doing anything since it got RMA’d if you need one to be disappointed by.

True. We also know that in some whirleds month long soaks are performed because “we’re still pulling stuff!”.

The choice of sensor was not mine, nor are we footing the bill on this one…but well trained NIR can grok many things, or so is the tell.

Not sure how to respond on the arometrix, I’ve got three versions here and have yet to find anything they can be useful for. Is the horse dead? Can I afford to keep beating it? I want the damn thing to work…

we have used a 2 color led sensor to detect the color of the butane. <$100 in parts

Is it just measuring interference/absorption?

Have to get back to you on that. Assuming absorbance.

Haven’t dug in…nor received the sensor yet.
