I had a almost half p on tray. Had to pay attention for a while though so it didn’t touch
I would rake slabs out of oven and put a piece of parchment on top and spread out thin sections with a big sharpie, the rolling pin never really worked for me but the sharpie let me hold onto both pieces of parchment
I use plastic paint scrapers from harbor frieght (no label glued on)
I never pour.
Have also used a rolling pin successfully to thin it out
I use a brownie spatula
I usually get between 60 and a 100 grams depending on the pour per shelf. Dont usually have to hit more than that per oven run with 11 shelves.
Is it a bad idea to use a heat gun to thin / spread the slab out after pouring?
EDIT: I think in terms of ethanol as that’s what I extract with.
Go watch the vid of the dude that blew up doing that and then ask again. Why would you ever think this IS a GOOD idea?
With butane I would never consider it. But with EHO after the bulk of the solvent has been removed on the roto…?
Hey how are you great posts what would i have to do to be able to dewax without the fancy dewax column i have a 2 ETS T1300 systems and iv been running into issues where im getting sticky slabs and cannot produce shatter
Want the shatteriest shatter?
Use ethanol and don’t add back any terps.
I feel like the terpenes make it pliable. They are a solvent after all
+1 or don’t run a terpy strain. Never made or tried tasty shatter only tasty snap n pull. I enjoy the taste of terps and the affect they have on my high.
what do you mean use ethanol and dont add back any terps you lost me.
i definitely agree with terps but ive also noticed that some super fire herb has made shatter and sometimes its strain specific . have you ever experimented with a 1um Sintered Disc. sometimes i feel like it may be because the strain has high counts of fats and lipids. That would definitely explain the clarity if i cant see through the slab ?
Yes. End product came back from testing with 11% Terps and 80% THC. Pull and snap texture though.
Only of course when there is very little residual solvents left.
What does “experimenting with a 1um sintered disc” have to do with anything else you said?
cause i figured that it would help remove fats and lipids and would help make a more stable product
Same I get ridiculous low yields cold injecting dry material, and it will never make shatter, but jarred you get a 3-5% yield in diamonds and sauce!
what micron size do you think stops crc powders like B-80 or Silica
There has to be tek to make shatter with any type of trim ???
3-5%? What are you running? Your yield isn’t as high when running super cold because you aren’t extracting the poopoo
