you can have remaining solvent in your column even after pushing w n2

once the material becomes saturated then you have to wait for it to thaw or warm up to release it

Thinking I might just try to get everything colder and push with butane vapors the next time I get something to run . I used to have no issues in the winter but I started packing my crc more and that mixed with these summer days are fucking it up I’m sure

that giant one was a built I did for my neighbor . He has a big refrigerant recovery tank that he runs with it . Was just using my little tanks to test it out

Yes with pressure you can keep a gas in phase above condensing temperatures, this is middleschool Chem guys…

And yes the pressure would be above what most standard fair diameter tri clamps could hold. So it would not be a “smert” experiment, unless properly tooled.

I figured 65 ish psi would plenty enough to do it because that’s what the gauge reads on my tanks when they are completely warm . So I was thinking it took 65 max psi to condense the butane at my warmest temps . But I guess that’s not how it works? Thanks for the input

Thats partial pressure of single gas, you have to account for the N2 you’re adding as well to keep your gas condensed.

Of course all of this depends on application. But say you pressurize a tank, amd add butane back in at vapor, it condenses due to pressure, tank pressure is going to be equal to the starting pressure, plus whatever pressure is added per certain volume of butane. Your pressures would look similar to a solvent tank you do a N2 bump on, pressures can exceed 150+ if left unattended, or you don’t bleed off the N2 as the solvent is recondensed.

I’m sure you could condense it and burp off, but that would be some cousin Clem level asinine s*** right there.

No it’s run at relatively low pressure . All prvs are set to 65. He was trying to build his own but didn’t no exactly what parts he needed so I just ordered the parts , pieced them together and pressure tested it for him . Just posted on here to piss some people off and possibly get some productive feed back ( people here give out the most info when there mad at you )

way to low… I’d have it btw 100-125psi a full tank on hot day easily sees 90psi
