Why are there no flow meters on the market?

Have you in fact used butane to extract? Ever at subzero temperatures.

I have serious doubt about that reading this post.

dark product? was it material or solvent ratio?

You’re gonna have to run a lot of extra solvent for this to happen. In the range of 10-20 extra lbs

Low yield? was it material or solvent ratio?

You’re gonna have to run a noticeably low ratio of solvent, to the level of 5-10 lbs less than you should have

I recover and flood simultaneously. It’s not hard. Yes, you’re putting a 1-2lbs of solvent back into your solvent tank a minute. Just account for that, and you’ll be filling very consistently, especially if your material columns feature sight glasses

im confused on hot loop. Is that using the same tane to run over and over across during one run?

While I appreciate your post… I have doubts that you have ever run a large system if you haven’t had this concern.

Is this the wind chime Tek applied in a real lab? Interesting.

Back before the fire Marshall’s were invited to the job sites… we had to rock this crane scale that we sealed with duct tape, spray foam, and a hot glue gun in order to weigh our solvent tanks. Our t-291 shook the barn too much for ev3ry refrigerant/pallet scald we tried. Even had to weld a custom rack and install rubber dampers to get this crane scale to work.

But ya know… I never really ran a closed loop :grimacing:

I didn’t say shit to you about you running a loop.

I said that scales have max weights…and that suspending a solvent tank in excess of 200 lbs from a ceiling might not be wise. Look at the hook holding it all up in the pic I quoted. I have rigging experience and a fucking crane license…I’m familiar with industrial lifting.

Fuck it…I’m having a bad day…so I’ll be a little more of a dick. @Bharris the way you have your solvent tank rigged, your holding it below the center of gravity, and it can roll out of your sling. You need to body and soul the tank to the sling or its a bad lift bud…

Hmm. I think you’re confused about who I was replying to. That site has been shut down for years. But you can’t, in that pic, see the way it 2as rigged inside of the upper ‘roll cage’ or whatever you’d call it… that prevented it from rolling out. Although I appreciate your concern and You are definitely thinking in the right vein

Where did u get this is for butane I see gasoline and diesel only

Don’t waste your time. That thing is for flow rates between 6-40Gpm. So maybe this makes sense in a fucking massive ethanol facility. But unless you’re flooding 30+ pounds of solvent a minute… this thing isn’t qualified

You replied to me. It was a mistake on your part. However, I apologize for jumping your ass. That’s just me being a dick cause I’m unhappy.

Hmm .my bad. We could always switch gears and comiserate about our unhappiness!

I just saw that mentioned in one of these threads a day or two ago, lemme see if I can find it

This took me 2 minutes to find.

c1d1

1/2" size with triclamp options

min temp -40f

3.8-38 l/min

4.1-41.3 lb/min

It would be better if the rated temp went a little lower but probably worth a shot to try it out.

I saw a lot when I searched lpg flow meters on DuckDuckGo
Cheap as fuck ones for monitoring liquids, and some do both

Didn’t see a UL/CSA certification on rheir data sheet.

seems the smaller one only goes down to 5lbs a minute. That would work fine for the injection side, if you are measuring on recovery side most people dont get 5lbs a minute.

They make meters that go under 1 gpm that are still c1d1, you just have to call and ask

We have flow meters for this industry, both as standalone and as a part of systems. Thank you, gregh@heyesfilters.com
