That’s about as close as I’d care to get to a momma with cubs.

Made them a little wallow and a bed with some straw. They found them both within like 10 minutes

I’m looking forward to a few bacon seeds when available. They looks super happy.

I will keep you posted, it will be the end of next summer. Right around this time. That way you can raise them through winter and finish them on pasture the next summer.

I drove through north western Montana this weekend. Next time I’m going to hit you up. I got some chicken to trade for some Montana weed.

Don’t let em smell blood…

1/2 cup of feed soaked in goats milk, this is all we are currently giving them on the daily, minus their little bit of alfalfa. The feed is 16% protein swine grower/maintenance, we go with the mash cuz it’s cheapest. It’s also better to mix with the milk. The crumbles turn into a firm cement when mixed with milk lol

Just traded 15 chickens (meat birds, butchered and ready to eat) for 4 castrated male kune kune piglets, kune kune meat here we come…

Gotta love your local Craigslist farm section. Idk about other areas, but ours is fucking poppin.

Craig is the man! I just got this big girl super cheap from my local Craigslist:

13’ 75lb reticulated python, she could definitely eat some piglets.

Jesus, huge. I haven’t ever worked with snakes. You live feed them stuff?

No, too much chance for the prey to fight back and injure the snake. I’ve had a snake die from a rat biting it’s head while trying to constrict it. The guy gave me 3 frozen rabbits with her, and that should last 3-4 months.

That’s gnarly! Never thought about that even. That’s cool shut. Super interesting!

I thought so! Ones a little smaller than the rest, going to just grow him big enough to roast whole…

But even then, count him out, it’s a steal even for 3 of them imo. I will come out way on top.

The other 3 bigger ones I will grow out, I have read it’s best to butcher them anywhere between 12-18 months. I’m hoping to finish them more on the 12-14 month side of that range, just because then they would be able to be finishing on pasture, instead of in alfalfa hay and a little grain. But that will totally depend on what they weigh in at at that point. I plan to sausage most of it: chorizo, breakfast sausages, brats, Italian sausage, etc. we have a bad ass grinder and sausage stuffer set up I’m stoked to use on them. Only really used it for deer and goat so far.
