When you hear the squeaking that’s the shaving of your nuts coming off and a sign that you’re wearing them down.

“Any big name Brick and mortar stores” … this would imply to those with common sense that I’m looking for the name of a place with multiple locations as to have a good chance at finding one near me. Ur not a big name, and u don’t have multiple locations… so no u definitely don’t check all the boxes

Brick-and-mortar doesn’t imply multiple locations

That’s subjective

I have been to more stored than i can even remember and only once did i find the right ones and it was a old boat shop full of about a dozen old men like from the muppets and they said “ i don’t know go look”. I went to so many places and no luck that i just order boxes now to not have to look or worry

What people have multiple stores except hfs, canna gas, high precision gas and solvent direct.

Certainly there are no brick and mortar stores like that in Maine so it’s a bit of a rhetorical question don’t ya think. But I guess grainger fits your request sorta

Lmao you guess grainger fits my request sorta? Grainger perfectly fits my request. To be honest it goes above and beyond as I was only looking for normal quality nuts and only nuts. But now that groovey kindley made me aware of grainger I have access to superior quality nuts and a assortment of other parts.

depends on gasket material, style of clamp and most importantly the size. you dont torque a 1.5" the same as a 6"

You however wont find torque values listed anywhere for high pressure clamps. at least not that i have found.

the most important part is using a torque wrench and tightening each side evenly and not over torquing one side.

my range is anywhere from 20-35 ft-lbs on 1.5"-6" and i usually do a two step torque. So if my final set is at 25ft-lbs i will first torque to 20ft-lb and then 25ft-lbs.

And sometimes a good measure to torque them again after they cool, if your equipment is kept sub zero and you put room temp clamps on.

Do you go up in foot pounds for a bigger tri clamp? I’ve been doing about 50 on everything

All my values i just shared have ft-lbs after which clearly means i use ft-lbs not inch pounds.

50 what? inch pounds? lets make sure were being clear with units of measurements so people dont get confused.

I would hope you not only torquing your high pressure clamps to 4.16 ft-lbs. (50 inch-lbs)

20’# for 13mhp
25’# for anything 13MHH

The single pins (13MHH) call for 25 inch lbs not ft lbs.

My fault, you are correct.

25"# mhh

They came in clutch when I needed a clamp the same day as a run and didn’t want to wait for shipping. Again not cheap but they come in handy if you need something on short notice and don’t wanna wait.

If grainger is your ideal store, I hate to say it, but you are a custy

Grainger is the most overpriced commercial supply in North America.

Edit: no offense, I know that sounded harsh but…stop letting yourself get ripped off!
