Fun fact: NY born El-P from Run The Jewels uses the moniker because of the slang term.

I’m sorry I hurt some feelings. Kids who need to roll big joints when 1 1/4" papers were all you could get at the corner store were the ones doing it…we didn’t have the internet or YouTube. We had a need for a big joint…
