My 5l spd wont keep a low enough vacuum. So I want to switch to my 2l. Should I use a 2 stage pump or diaphragm pump for a 2l short path.

you can even go down to a 1L flask and do a bunch of small runs so you don’t need as big of a pump. i had the same problem

Diaphram pump is the wrong pump for spd. That’s a great pump for rotovap (5l) or buchner funnel filtering.
Alcatel 2021i is perfect for a 2l spd.

I run 5l’s on 2021i’s alone just fine. Even better with a getter or full blown diffusion hooked up to it. Hell I’m one of those crazy guys who runs a turbo on an spd so maybe I’m just nuts…
