How would I mix for 2:1 CBD with distillate? What about 1:1 is that half Cbd and distillate?? Thanks
Ya depending on what your making
Please specify what you want
i got a spoon in me today,
I think OP is asking how to measure out THC disty to CBD disty or iso or something.
think in parts, in fractions; lets say our target final product weight is 1000g
A 1:1 would be 500g CBD - 500g THC
a 2:1 would be 666g CBD -333g THC
hope this helps
This can go way deeper as soon as you start factoring in material purity and target compound concentrations.
pretend it’s apples and oranges.
you want 2:1
so how many apples for each orange?
:
Edit: beyond that we need to know a little more about what you’re working with (the potency of your THC and CBD extracts & your goal).
So I am making cbd 1:1 & 2:1 carts. If I have 300 grams of distillate how much cbd would i add to make it 2:1?
How would calculate the potency into it? Say potency is 97.27
Awesome. Thanks buddy😊
distillate? is that your THC or your CBD?
“distillate” could be either. or neither.
what are you starting with?
at what potency?
you’ve got 2 apples for every orange, and 300 oranges.
how many apples do you need?
IF both starting materials are at 100%, and you’ve got 300g of one, you either need 150g or 600g of the other.
the potency of what is 97.27?
you’ve got two starting materials.
they BOTH have a potency/purity associated with them.
apples:oranges except your apples are only 97.27% apple.
so for every apple, you only need how much orange?
(97.27% divided by two!! ie: slightly less than 1/2 an orange)
Edit: and while there is a traditional way of reading 2:1 when applied to CBD + THC, how about you explicitly state which cannabinoid you’d like to be prevalent.
Ok so I think he has 300g of THC distillate
So for a 2:1 CBD:THC you would do
- 600g CBD to 300g THC
For testing, if you wanted to make a smaller batch:
60g CBD to 30g THC
6g CBD to 3g THC
For a 1:1 CBD:THC you would do
- 300g CBD to 300g THC
For testing, if you wanted to make a smaller batch:
30g CBD to 30g THC
3g CBD to 3g THC
I use this site so much as a reference to double check my mental math

@anon56994712 has kindly spelled it out explicitly for you… Assuming distillate at 85% THC and isolate at 97% CBD, his numbers will get you close.
In order to get closer, you need to account for the fact that you’re not detailing with 100% purity on either…
Until you give us those numbers, you’re on your own.
eg 300g X 0.85 actually = 255g of THC
and 600g of 97% CBD actually = 582g of CBD
so not really two parts CBD to 1 part THC
255g x two => you need 510g of (pure) CBD
if you have 97% CBD, then you need 510g divided by 0.97 = about 526g
so again: what are your potencies?!?
some common core math for ya:
2:1
2+1=3
3 parts of a whole means each part will be 33.33% of 100% of a whole
if each part of a whole is 33.33% or .3333 of 1 then you would solve for “X” which is the amount of unknown cut to add to 500g of distillate.
if you have 500 grams of cbd distillate and you want to calculate how many grams of THC or “Cut” to add to make a 2:1 ratio of CBD to something else you would multiply 500x.3333(1 part) which is 166.65 grams. then divide this number by .6666 (2 parts) which comes to 250grams so you add 250 grams of cutter shit to 500grams of your distillate to make a 2:1 CBD to X mixture.
if you need a 3:2 ratio it would look like this:
3:2
3+2=5
5 parts of a whole means each part will be 20% of 100% of a whole
if each part of a whole is 20% or .2 of 1 then you would solve for “X” which is the amount of unknown cut to add to 500g of distillate.
if you have 500 grams of cbd distillate and you want to calculate how many grams of THC or “Cut” to add to make a 3:2 ratio of CBD to something else you would multiply 500x.4(2/5ths) which is 200. then divide this number by .6 (3/5ths) which comes to 333.33 grams so you add 333.33 grams of cutter shit to 500grams of your distillate to make a 2:1 CBD to X mixture.
to make it easy you could just take (500g x 1)/2 to solve for “x” which is the amount of unknown cut. 500g can be swapped for any amount of cbd distillate to get the number of cut to add.
97.27 is known and you have 2 parts of it to one part of lets assume “0” purity stuff. so the mixture is 3 parts of total shit. 2 parts of 97.27% shit and 1 part of 0% shit. two thirds of 97.27% is 64.84% or 97.27x.6666 (2/3rds parts) so now your potency is 64.84% cbd
we can complicate this further by looking at the fact that you’re actually trying to optimize two formulations with 300g of (presumed thc) distillate…
(assuming you want the same number of 2:1 as 1:1 carts…)
In which case you want to split your “disty” into 5 (theoretical) portions, and use 3 parts in your 1:1 and 2 parts in your 2:1
eg 300g/5 = 60g
180g THC + 180g CBD = 360g
120g THC + 240g CBD = 360g
180g THC + 120g THC = 300g of “THC”
but again, those are approximations, because neither your THC nor your CBD are “pure”
Edit: where did the “5 parts” come from? 1:1 + 2:1 => 1+1+1+2 = 5
Lol common core math future4200 style
Yall crack me up
To Formulate an accurate 2:1 formulation you must know the THC & CBD potency of your THC distillate AND THC & CBD potency of your CBD distillate/isolate.
It’s literally bakers math.
People have been working with this since the invention of BREAD, let alone common core.
