What air conditioner is in your grow room

I wasn’t speaking on any unit in particular. I was only joking because I’ve seen them rated that low. -40 is much more common. I have no real life experience operating any units at that temp, so I won’t suggest anything that may disappoint. Appreciate you sharing your experience.

my old apt had a 18000 btu in the master and a 12000 btu in the spare bedroom, through the wall style.

These are $499 via Amazon Renewed rn. 4 year third party warranty for $75. Crazy deal for ~2 ton smart dual inverter.
LG LW2217IVSM 22,000 BTU DUAL Inverter Smart Window Air Conditioner 230/208 Volt (Renewed) https://a.co/d/4Zilynv

I’m ny experience run away from lg mini splits. Gree (who white label half of the units available), Daikin or Mitsubishi if you’re a Chad

Or if you just want best of the best for insurance’s sake. Makes me nervous to install inferior equipment in a grow room that I plan to turn a couple hundred thousand dollars a year in.

inferior? Im pretty sure they work. alot of hvac guys have preferences, I dont think theres one best but it should work. do all the grocery stores with hundreds of thousands in food use the same brand unit? is it mitsubishi or no go?

Yes i use ro before humidifier. Im thinking on trying 1 suggestion on here of ro to large container. From container to humidifirr. It was suggested the on off maybe pullin salts.
That is plausible for sure. Havnt had a chance to make the change to see if that is cause yet.
Or if its the style im using. Mine isnt the hypersonic style

Daiken and mitshubishi i believe use a lot of same parts compressor etc. My lil bro installed a ton of daiken and he is was pro ac repair guy. He said very little service calls on them? I use mitshubishi

the lack of service calls may or may not be due to those companies being sold by competent hvac pros and some other units may be favored by hack job hvac fucks. I got a goodman hvac in my house installed via a hack. thats why I need all the windows and portables.

True proper in stall is important. Gotta vac it down cometely. Then lineset length etc.
Some diy could b issue if not following install proceedure. They r pretty simple once uv installed a couple

I honestly thing they didnt even vac it upon install. I know a vac pump and i was 20 feet away and they didnt do it. it never worked but im renting and prefer them not coming to my garden frequently.

They r supposed to because could have contaminate in the lineset
Im sure world wont end if they dont but they should

the hvac guy who comes to my house is a loser. initially i had a decent unit but mustve had a leak. he charged it and it worked great. for a day, he shouldve evacuated it and used nitrogen to test for leaks prior to charge, i know that just from bho. and he may have made the leak given that hes a fake hvac guy. he came back and installed a 3 year old goodman unit that isnt even available online anymore. he did his thing while i was on my couch 20 feet away. he says to turn down the thermostat and nothing happens and hes too stupid to figure out the fuse so goes to home depot 3 mins away. 2 hours later he comes back and he had the fuse confused- it was the switch he flipped??? It starts and he leaves immediately. No testing whatsoever>??? never worked, i had them come back requesting not him and same. 3rd time he came and i let him have it with swears and telling him I know he never vacced it. and im growing so I hate this fucker. after him not vaccing the only solution is to evacuate it all and recharge. by now its 3 years and ill bet the new unit is trashed. my hvac guy ignores the fact that cold air doesnt come out the vents. he also does dumb shit like say its cool in here while i got the only window ac i see on any of the same model houses in the hood. its not the garden either. On the old unit the wire was frayed and was nearly shorted and he used the same wire and thats why it popped the fuse??? and he didnt even protect the lines with foam- left them bare?

With new install they are supposed to nitrogen pressure test for leaks. Then vac down -28 then fill with refridgerant.
I believe refridgerant leak is what just killed 4 couples in mexico.
He must be a low standard of work ethic person???

Bare wires ? No excuse for that even lazy ppl tape them jeez. Sleep with 1 eye open and oxygen detector by pillow

Yes they recovery the refridgerant and weigh it to check if proper amount there. But if it is dirty the system will protect and reduce flow of refridgerant. Could be couple things. I clean my heads everycrop.
And clean the outside unit annually. I would check to see how dirty things are. There is a wheel in the head that is like cupped for scooping air if it is too dirty it wont move air causing unit to protect without showing a error signal.

Ever had a cheap pioneer ac unit break down inside a garden?

Had a pioneer blow it’s motherboard after several years of use. Never seen a higher quality unit do that.

You ever installed an ac yourself?

Don’t talk about what you know nothing about.

Yes i did hvac for a few years commercially. My lil bro over 20yrs. I was the helper not the brains but learned alot. I can do the install now. But i worked with top notch company

I have 2 units just in case one goes bad as well. Usually takes 2 weeks to get parts or a new unit. I had 1 outside unit go bad. But i thought ahead and did 2 units rather than 1 super large.
I have a 2 ton and 31/2 ton for cooling. But not enough still for 12 double enders. The humidifier adds cooling making it get by with 12de.

A leaky ac in his apt could be a dead thumper .

If you have spare units on hand any mini split can be fixed/replaced in under an hour. Mitsubishi is about double the price of a gree unit. I was raised in a family HVAC business, Mitsubishi is good but it’s not worth the money imo

Also I’m speaking on residential style 2 phase units. I don’t really know anything about the large commercial systems
