Using Propane Assist Instead of Nitrogen

I was Wondering if it would make sense to use 100%Propane Instead of nitrogen to build pressure. Also By using propane instead of Nitrogen you would not have to bleed out the extra pressure. Thank you in advance for any help

N2 offers more control over a the vast range of temperatures your likely to be operating at. Propane could condense in your material column resulting in over fill without providing the push your looking for.

Propane works when running warm, nitrogen works when running cold

This is what’s some were referring to as a hot loop before.

Definitely agree with @Midnightoil, much more control with the n2. You’ll condense some propane into your other solvent if it’s all below the bp of propane in addition to less pressure than you expect.

propane assist is pretty awesome. No need to bleed the gas out

This is where I’m not familiar with big boy systems. With my little rig, bleeding the n2 out isn’t a big deal at all.

I run propane/butane pressure assist, hoping to go pure propane soon though.

Propane phase changes.

Nitrogen won’t in normal cls operating conditions.

Thank you For your Help, Looks Like I am Going to go with the Nitro

really depends what temps you’re running…

have you looked at
