Are those non-sparking vice grips?
yeahâŠthis works in a pinch (sorry couldnât resist the pun) but man is it bad for your hoses. A valve is cheaper than the leak IMO
Spreading the load appropriately is importantâŠas is not pinching too tight.
Works well with this flavor of silicone heater hose.
Strainers + waste bins from dollar tree = cheap ass hydroponic pot. All you gotta do after is drill a hole, add a grommet put your hose and air stone in.
Havenât tried this yet but I plan on it.
All right so Iâm a cheap bastard and I will usually try to utilize what I have on hand instead of buying âpurpose-built fancy stuffâ.
So a few years ago I bought an Edwards 28 from this dental lab that shut down and it came with a hush box and a Jun-air compressor. And for the past 4 years or so the compressor was sitting there collecting dust. Just picked up a new rotovap. I needed an easy way to empty out the collection flasks on the roto. And so⊠I put the compressor back into the hush box ran an air hose from the compressor to the roto collecting flasks, connected a hose at the bottom of the collecting flasks and now when I want to empty out the flasks I turn on the compressor, open up the inlets on top of the collecting flasks and open the outlet on the bottom of the flasks and voila everything makes my life easier.
Also because the compressor can overpressure the lines and the flask I added a" T" next to the the compressor with a pressure release line (donât have a valve on it yet but weâll get one later today)
tis indeed the way
Canât you just gravity drain the roto collection flasks? No air compressor needed?
The drains are just a few inches off the ground.
I was also thinking of putting a small pump there to pull fluids out but I did have a compressor on hand. As well as a pump would leave some fluids in the line after after the collection flasks are empty and compressed air is going to push everything out the lines.
I thought my female plant I was growing outside hermaphrodited and I thought I sexed it accurately. It turned out to be a male. Well I said fuck it all and kept growing it.
I thought to myself something will love it.
That something was 12 bumblebees at almost any given moment going at the plant at once.
So it got me thinking that maybe it wouldnât be so bad to have a small plot of male Cannabis to help bee populations and that it might be a trick of the trade to grow male plants for bee populations and to help food production.
My neighbors every year grow vegetables so I like to think Iâm helping them out a little bit⊠Though I noticed the bees that are on my male plant are probably the bees that wouldâve been all over a different neighbors rose bush/tree.
Your neighbors are gonna hate you so much if theyâre growing herb too
âŠso the ACTUAL trick of the trade here is to grow triploids
Especially if youâre growing anywhere near @GroovyOctopusLabs
hahaha depends where you are! some local herb growers might want you to disappear for doing something like that lol pollen travels a very long way!
Weed grown in the mountains of Granada Spain is pollinating the landrace in marrocco 346km away
So yes a long way
I can pull the plant. I was just saying it looks like its helping the bees.
thereâs seven yards growing vegetables near me.
Didnât know that.
It s a nice reading althou in this paper the findings are marroco to Spain
Pollination
Humboldt actually did a flat out ban on growing hemp for this reason. Didnât want any unscrutinizing hemp farmers leaving a bunch of males to seed out nearby cannabis farms.
I think the Yurok tribe still does some hemp projects on their land though.
And I repeatâŠ
Although @colombiabeneficial may have more data of just how well that worksâŠ
