Hey does anyone have a hookup on Haifa products right now? Their CalNit ratio is way better/has less ammoniacal nitrogen than yara or Van Iperen, we’ve been making due for a month but I’m sick of adjusting our ratios. Anyone got that CalPrime plug? I’d kill for a pallet
I’ve been changing formulas, adding cal acetate or cal chloride to achieve the same total N:Ca ratio. Can’t fix the difference in ammonia.
Yep, I’ve been doing that calcium acetate bump as well but the additional organic content is making the shelf life of our stock solution a lot lower. Also it’s expensive lol
Potassium sorbate or sodium benzoate will get your shelf life back. About 1/2-3/4 gram per gallon of EITHER, not both per gallon of stock solution on a 1:100 injector will kill everything without causing issues to the plants
You should be using small enough amounts that the Chloride from cal chloride is pretty insignificant. If you start seeing symptoms of low N with the same ppm in solution you would know that the chloride is antagonizing it’s uptake.

Great tip on the preservatives! We’ve been trying to keep our Cl count pretty low and already have it maxed out with CaCl2 so not too much room to play there
CalPrime. For the most part we use Haifa for macros and Brandt for micros. Yara is alright, seems to have a pretty high level of insoluble crap compared to some others but it’s also cheap. Van Iperen is fantastic but don’t see much of their stuff locally.
for me last year Jacks Cal nit was cheapest. i ordered it through Grow gen in York i think it ends up being around 55-60 shipped most places for a 25lb bag. haifa is 25 bucks for a 20lb bag shipped through MBFerts
i dont even see anywhere online to get cal prime for a decent price. customhydronutes is way overpriced on shipping

Has jack nitrate been cleaner then yara in peoples experience? @emdub27 how would you supplement for more calcium with yara or jacks nitrate? What and how much please? I think I might go scoop a bag of jacks nitrate
Wow y’all getting green taxed up the wazoo lol. I think the Yara CalNit we’re getting right now for like $18/25kg bag for a 42 bag pallet. We were getting CalPrime for like $35/bag and I was happy to pay the premium but none of our suppliers can get it (or any Haifa products) for another month. Local ag supply places always crushed customhydro (we did still order from them in a pinch before their service went to shit).
