For fairly priced outdoor units that will do literally anything you want
Sorry to dredge up old comments. But based on this I could get away with only chilling my solvent columns in order to recover and could just use speed/ pre chilling columns in dry ice to make sure my fresh frozen material stays cold? If I’m running a very small system could I get away with using a poly sci recirculating chiller to chill my columns? Sorry if this is a dumb question…
Just trying to get a rough real world idea of what kinda of condensing power / “recovery” one can expect with a CS-200 in terms of Lbs per minute of N-Butane. thx
It can comfortably handle 6lbs a min w/ 20kw @ -10c.
Thats blazing fast!
I didnt win the unit unfortunately, still went for a decent price of like 5500usd or there about, one day soon Ill regret it.
I did manage to snipe another bizzy 200L cauldron though!
Damn when was this trusteel auction?! I need a cauldron and a cs200.
Got those items in a different auction, was just relating to @RockSteady statement so referenced it.
Which auction @pangea I’m jus curious, stoked for you!
Lots of good post here about not using highly priced scientific chillers.
Heres a $14K 10hp new condensing unit that does 15kw cooling at -20F(57% increase over a cs-200)
It can do 8.9kw @ -40
the cs-200 is 9.5kw @ -20
And of course another major advantage of that unit you posted is that it’s part of a split refrigeration system. This means the condenser and evaporator can be placed somewhat far away from each other which allows you to put the heat/noise of the condensing unit away from the work area as opposed to a unit like the CS-200 where not only do you have the entire refrigeration system (evap and condenser) jam packed into a tiny enclosed rolling frame, but you also have to deal with the extra parts/headaches of pumping/plumbing the thermal transfer fluid to/from your process.
Most industrial refrigeration is some type of split system.
Here are some condenser/compressor skid packages from Alibaba. I’d bet these types of skids can be found in the 10-15HP range for around $10k or less.
Ultracool codensing units are outdoor suitable so you don’t have to hear or see it, cheaper than competitors as well.
