The alcohol industry has always been better for labor than the cannabis industry. The reason cannabis is so horrible is greed. Starry eyed employees enter thinking either they will be the jesus of weed or be able to fire one up for free! Greedy ass employers who make bad decisions because they were oversold, and cut costs via screwing over their workforce.

Any industry full of people dying to work for low pay for social media cred will end up a shit show. It provides a revolving door on both the labor and capital end.

I think the labor force in cannabis should be bottom dollar. The only complaint i have from observing the industry is that they should actually get paid on time.

Really you honestly think that one doing hydrogenation or phyroforic reactions on a
Large scale should get minimum wage ?
I mean in a 100 gallonreactor dudes making
At least 5000$ a day for the company
That’s insane

If someone created a business to make 5000$ a day, I’m sure there were many -5000$ days

If you share when it’s up you gotta be willing to share when it’s down

With that being said I’ll need you to come in this week and work 40 hours for -10,000$ because we took a huge L on some bunk product. Glad we’re on the same page with the mutual risk/reward sharing

On a serious note I do think weed industry people should get more but people will do it cheaper because it’s a desired / cool job so it’s priced low

Thats not a job for a laborer.

I disagree, I get your point, but this ties back to what I’m saying about C level people and poor management. If the employee (Tech) is making $5,000 of product at current market price then that is $5k added value per day from that employee, end of story. If the buyer bought a mids batch of material it is not the Tech’s fault. If the company was designed to move $5k of product volume per day and the sales team can’t make sales it is not the Tech’s fault. If the C level people designed the company around some unrealistic model and their company can’t compete then it’s not the Tech’s fault. If the C level expected 600% margins and can’t pay the bills it’s not the Tech’s fault. I understand that the industry is constantly changing and products are in and out of demand and the prices are up and down… but that needs to be accounted for by the people in charge.

Automation. There’s really no reason to pay a human to do this at large scale especially when the risk profile is so high

c suites also don’t control the economics of licensed markets

you cant chalk up everything wrong in the weed world and why you don’t feel like you get what deserve to these made up scenarios in your head

Its exaggerated and out of touch with reality

Yo, whut? You’ve been attacking my posts lately and you miss every time. Stop twisting my words it’s obvious you have poor reading comprehension or something. I didn’t say C suites control economics or markets, but it is their job to react to them and guide the company to success. My point was that Techs are doing their jobs very well and getting the shit end of the stick (paid poorly) because C level and sales aren’t doing their jobs well. I never said I wasn’t getting what I feel I deserve, I am actually happy with my compensation, but I wasn’t in the past and I feel obligated to speak up for those people in that position today. Everything I have stated is from direct experience, and it may not be true for you so consider yourself lucky. The ca market is wild right now, ask anyone. And who the hell are you to know nothing about me or the market I’m in and to say I’m out of touch with reality? This shit is exhausting, no one wants to hear it, drop it. Competent Techs deserve a comfortable living wage, it’s that simple.
