So involved lol youre delusional. Nice try though.
You probably read that as much as you read into this thread. It shows.

LOL I been here since 2018 and read and commented in that thread. I remember all about what happened out there. You know exactly what you guys were doing in the dessert and many more do also. All anyone who does not know has to do is read that thread. Maybe you got your sh!t together since then but only you know that.
Lol I wasnt involved with the fucked up shit going on out there, thats why they fired me and tried to keep my lab equipment when i said something but okay keep trying.
Because this type of situation has been happening alot in the past year.
Idk when the black market turned into a place with refund policies and restocking fees.
I missed that memo
Just because you feel like youre on the BM doesnāt mean everyone else does. Some of us have actually ran other businesses other than cannabis and hemp companies and know what it takes to have a successful business. Your BM mentality is whats wrong with this industry. People have gotten taken care of in the āBMā for a lot less than a 10k mishapā¦
I agree, sucessful businesses also keep track of incoming inventory⦠and do their due diligence on making sure the stuff they recieved is what they ordered.
If ur a cart seller and u order a ton of shitty carts, resell those carts to someone else without checking on them. Customer is not happy with their carts, is that the cart sellers fault or the manufacturers?
Customer went ahead and filled all of the carts instead of just trying a few first. Customer comes back and complains, who is paying for those carts?
Its the sellers responsiblity to deal with the manufacturer⦠I use to sell fiberglass parts and when there was a problem i always dealt with it and dealt with the manufacturer who we bought the parts from. We would do an exchange, pay to ship the part back, then have the manufacturer replace the part. We also always checked the parts before sending anything out so we didnt have to deal with situations like this (which octave never even saw the product)
So what happens if you buy lets say 2000 carts and it takes you a few months to go through them and you end up finding half are badā¦
Since its been a few months does that clear the manufacturer of sending you bad product and make it your fault since you didnt check all the carts because you bought inventory to use later??? I dont think soā¦
Good point, i guess it just comes down to your stated policy. Usually theres a restocking fee
We charged a restocking fee when someone wanted to return an item but not if it was our fault or because of a bad product.
They didnt even send him āisolateā the test results show 87% and then they still wanted to charge a restocking fee even before it was decarbed⦠which was why he decarbed it⦠i wouldnt want to loose a little under 2k because of someone selling me bad product either. Which is why I have it now.
Its pretty weird too they didnt have test results till after this became an issue. How did they even know it was compliant?
Itās not black market if there is a bank involved. At that point you have to play by the grownups rules. Being an adult business person entails dealing with impossible requests correctly by adapting them or rejecting them.
In this case, @Octave should have told the customer they did not have the consistency they requested. He should have asked the customer exactly what he wanted to do with it, and known his product enough to tell them to mill it down to a powder on their side.
If the customer wasnāt happy because the consistency didnāt match what was advertised, they could have asked to start a return at that moment. If they received what was advertised then at that moment Octave could have either adhered to his return policy or told them how to properly modify the product to suit their needs. If Octave didnāt have a return policy then itās 100% on him for not clarifying his business policies like an adult would.
I have personally done business with Octaveās company in the past and from the experiences I had I would say it is not a business ran by grownups
Haha all this has happened to me. Find a good supplier and donāt look back.
Depends on the companyās defect rate that they tell you. You can hire a 3rd party in China to hold your hardware brand accountable for there typical 0.1%-2% defect rates. The uneducated people who blindly go into ordering 10,000 shitty vapes with 0 R&D or accountability held with the manufacture are the ones taking these Ls
Honestly the one thing Iāve gathered from reading all this is thisā¦.
I hope @Octave has a speedy recovery. The guy just had a stroke.
Hello @Octave ,
I was the first processor that @parahexyl reached out to see if this misrepresented material could be fixed, when I first saw the material I was highly doubtful that it could be decarbed or remedied into something that would could be useable. I would also like to mention that I have seen some pretty low TAC in isolates, but never something for sale that is sub 90%. I have to agree with @parahexyl that this material should have been refunded or replaced at no cost to the customer. And as for the working for, but not really working for Octave labs, that is extremely odd and highly unbelievable in my opinion.
Aloha Everyone,
Whoa, a lot has transpired on this thread since I last responded. I took a break from social media for a few days.
First, I want to sincerely thank all of you, @Parahexyl, @KingoftheKush420, @thetetraguy for unbiased real talk, @baked-all-day for shining light on the shade, @Worcestershire_Farms for the dope beats, and @lolwut for calling it like it is. I appreciate everyone else, too, for your input, patience, and engagement in this thread. This conversation hasnāt been easy, but I deeply value both the support and constructive criticism. I can even appreciate the comedy of lost, lilā babbling haters pretending to be adults.
Let me clarify the situation
Parahexyl initially ordered Octave Labsā finely milled, ultra-pure THCA isolate, the standard form we produce in-house. After receiving the material, Parahexyl expressed a preference for a more granulated form, better suited for coating flower. I said I couldnāt promise anything but would explore alternative options. I told Parahexyl since this material would be out of Octaveās hands, they would need to provide their own shipping labels and arrangements parahexyl agreed.
So octave excepted the return with no restocking fee and no questions asked and at the cost that they incurred on their own for a swap
The product was sourced from a trusted supplier known for producing material specifically used for flower coating. They assured us this product was ideal for the intended purpose, and we transferred Parahexylās funds directly to them to secure the order. Octave even absorbed some additional costs to ensure the swap was seamless and satisfactory.
Parahexyl arranged the shipping, provided labels, and received the material. Maybe it was not clear at the point when I said, I would explore options and that I believed I had found a suitable material for a swap that that meant I was sourcing from a third-party. I guess it would need to be more defined and laid out much more clear in black and white.? Lesson learned,!
Anyway, Over 30 days later, they raised concerns about the productās color. We immediately requested photos, like several times and never could any photos be produced? and Definitely no documentation, Was ever produced until months after so even after asking for some sort of proof none were provided before the product was altered. No third-party COA was conducted before raising the complaint or decarbing the material. The COA from KCA Labs came over 70 days after the product was received, likely around 30 days post-decarb, making it difficult to verify the original condition.
Despite the delayed complaint, the supplier was willing to accept the return with a restocking fee. obviously, just like the first time the material was returned and swapped because her hackle handled it within a reasonable amount of time there was no charge restocking fee or questions asked. But since it had been 30 days, there was a restocking requested by the third-party supplier. Parahexyl declined and opted to decarb the entire batch, against our advice to start with smaller amounts (no more than 200 grams). Altering the materialās composition made it impossible to process a return, and Octave could no longer engage in the complaint.
Octave Labs responded promptly to Parahexylās initial request, and given the circumstances, issued a final decision of no refund. The third-party supplier also confirmed this stance. Out of empathy, I continued to engage with Parahexyl to explore other solutions, despite knowing our options were limited.
To address @Pezās question: I am not on payroll at Octave Labs, nor do I hold ownership or receive commissions. Iāve been a close friend of the founder for over 25 years and have served as an informal consultant and community liaison. When the founder recently suffered a stroke, I stepped in to keep things running and maintain our presence on Future 4200.
Itās important to note that Octave Labs and the supplier both concluded the case as closed when Parahexyl declined the return. However, I encouraged Parahexyl to track down any unaltered sample from their network to get it tested. They sent the sample for analysis at my suggestion, which reflects my effort to ensure transparency and fairness, even though the case was technically closed.
We take these matters seriously. Iāve requested Octave conduct a thorough investigation into the claims. Once weāve gathered all the necessary information from all parties, weāll share our findings transparently and determine any next steps.
This experience has highlighted areas where Octave can improve. Octave has begun implementing new SOPs for third-party transactions, product verification, and client communication to prevent future issues. Additionally, Octave is aligning with CFR-111 compliance to further enhance quality standards.
I want to express my gratitude to everyone who has shown support for Octave Labs and this community, your encouragement means the world to us. Without you, there is no us. We are committed to learning from this experience, making things right where we can, and continuing to serve the community with integrity.
To @Parahexyl, our intention was never to deceive or mishandle the situation. As I have proven and already shown with previous actions of sending you free crystal resistant Distillate to help give you opportunity to find solutions along with free Terps, I am still open to discussing potential solutions to help offset any losses and move forward productively.
Thank you all for your patience, insights, and constructive engagement. Letās continue building this community together in a positive way.
Mahalo,
Hippy J
