THCA crashing out during recovery

Same here. I’ve accidentally done this 4 or 5 times and every time a heat line was unplugged from collection pot

Depending on how we run, this can easily be made to happen every time. You are cold-crashing the acidics with the solvent. Most likely because of the propane, it has a nice low -42c bp so it provides the cold… :sunglasses:

Same thing happens to me when I do it that way

I’m having the same problem, literally every single run crashes like this. The thca crashes so hard it clogs all my screens, lines, and valves. I’ve adjusted gas mixes,Temps, supply tanks, gas supplier. I ran the CLS for 2 years and never seen this till a few months ago. Any suggestions to fix this issue would be greatly appreciated

there are work arounds and folks who can apparently turn it on/off at will

I suggest reading that entire thread, along with anything “medusa” or “fast crash”…

If it crashes out in the pot could u not cut off recovery when it got low load it w some nitro to keep it from bubbling away then circulation of warm water till it finally melts down?

You can absolutely redissolve the extract if it crashes out, but it’s time consuming and can hurt the daily throughput significantly.

We are experiencing this as well

Sure is fun in the luna huh? Kind of wish we had a bottom 6” triclamp we could disconnect to fish out the pucks of thca now.

note to self: get more cow fisting gloves

Yeah but for ppl needing an wanting to pour I wonder how long it would take… the one pic is crashing off awful high

.I have theory on this…is it happening only w hot pack 30%thca and over or multi runs into the same pot
Could they be super saturating it somehow

It can take an hour or more, depends on how dense the clump is or if it’s just a little crash. You can pump vapor throug if you have the right configuration.

It’s more likely to happen with higher saturated solutions but it happens when it absolutely shouldn’t due to the contaminate in the fast crash gas.

Glad I bought up enough gas for me to last woke when my orders plummeted after vit e they didn’t even want extra anymore so now what I’d use to use in month will last couple yrs but it’s personal stock

This is happening with the same frozen biomass that we’ve been running since last fall the same way, multiple sock runs.

@TRIPPIE suggested I may be cold crashing before recovery because my lines where constantly clogging with thca, he recommended I up the Temps on my material chillers. I changed them from -35c to -15c and currently I’ve successfully ran 6 15lb lots with no crashing. Thank you for the advice
