Texas thc ban on governors desk

They do, currently, which is exactly why they’re passing this thc ban. The loophole has causes every gas station and thousands of headshops to start selling the lowest quality mids on the market.

We would be better off with a legal market instead of dogshit sold with fake coa’s. It’s like a 2018 ‘hotdog water’ cart market down here.

It’s 6.25% sales tax base in Texas, most cities and towns tack on their own tax. In Houston everything is 8.25% sale tax. Texas loves their regressive tax system.

Homestead helps reduce our property tax which is one of the highest in the nation. We sold our home in the northeast, bought a home of the same value in Houston (350k). Neither of us got a raise and every penny we saved from not paying state income tax went directly to our increased property tax. Every single penny. Even with the homestead exemption.

Our home owner insurance is 50% more, our auto insurance went up 50% the day we moved to Texas. Groceries, gas, restaurants all the same price we paid in the north east. Power and water are a lot more expensive in Houston, our power cost 2x what it did in the north east.

Texas is only cheaper if you live in bum fuck middle of nowhere, filled with racists glorifying the days when their small town was still a whites only sundown town. Many of those sundown towns still exist in Texas…

The bill has passed the house, it will automatically become law in September unless abbot vetoes the bill, which he hasn’t shown any interest.

Texas also isn’t a great place to raise a family…

Terrible roads yet everything I sprawled out.

Texas hates pedestrians, even in most fucking suburbs we don’t even have sidewalks…

Texas has some of the worst schools in the nation… it’s great if you’re rich and send your kid to a private religious school, because Texas loves its right wing bible thumpers.

Emphasis on bible, because Texas is still very racist.. we still have actual sundown towns who will openly tell minorities, “you don’t want to be around here at night”… even in cities the race divide is evident. Compared to the north east people here are very racist.

Abbot doesn’t have to sign. The bill passed legislation, it will become law in September unless abbot vetos it, which he hasn’t shown any sign of doing so.

Texas is a circus, a carny doesn’t concern himself with the truth, the truth is what they tell you to believe. He unfortunately falls in line with many religious conservatives who have held this state hostage for decades.

The way the Texas government works is repugnant compared to other states. They have gerrymandered this states to hell, and the way the legislature actually works is abhorrent. Only representative and push legislation, citizens cannot force a referendum and the house only meets for a few months every two years.

That’s what they mean when they say Texas is a “Good ol’ boy state”.. convicted of bribery then gets rehired immediately because

“He’s a man of integrity, a true believer, a true conservative Christian,” Miller said.

Miller said the charges were politically motivated and that the charges were an attack on his office by a “weaponized” judicial system.

“He’s innocent. He could have proved his innocence, but he’s facing a George Soros judge, a George Soros district attorney and a Travis County Democrat jury,”

The typical MO, lie, deflect with some right wing conspiracy theory and sweep it all under the rug.

I mean, Soros is one of the main reasons why this country in a whole is fucked up right now. Liberal fucking madness. I’ve lived across the whole US, and I came back to TX for a reason. And people throw that racist shit out there all the time, it’s a disgrace to people like Rosa Parks and others who actually lived through racist times.

If you don’t like TX, move the fuck out. You don’t have to stay here. We ain’t Colorado or California, we the south. We have our own vibe. And we still smoke and drank.

There’s that right wing brain rot.

Oh, our nation never had liberalism before George Soros?…

Our nation was founded on liberalism. The country’s Declaration of Independence and Constitution drew heavily from Enlightenment thinkers like John Locke, who emphasized natural rights, limited government, and the consent of the governed. These ideals were central to the American Revolution and the creation of a new nation based on individual liberty and popular sovereignty.

The glory days of the 50’s/60’s that boomers republicans long for, were completely fueled by liberalism, tax policies and unions.

But please, preach your Fox News brain rot, because conservatism is doing so well for this nation.

“We the south.”

Oh yeah, there’s that ignorant abusive “love it or leave it!!!” redneck mentality. Let’s not fix any issues, just bury your drunken head in the sand and watch Fox News. You’re exactly what’s holding the state back from any fucking progress.

So you moved back to Texas because other states weren’t racist and regressive enough for you? Oh, how very Texan of you…

I did move when I saw:

  • Gambling laws in the state going nowhere
  • Cannabis laws regressing
  • Property tax making housing insane in the metro
  • Insurance rates skyrocketing due to disasters
  • My pets huddled together for warmth when we didn’t have electricity for days in February 2021
  • That my fiance had practically non-existent reproductive rights
  • That gerrymandering is continuing to fuck the state
  • That personal freedom is mostly talk
  • That religious & antiquated ideology is embraced regardless of age

Thank you for your concern. I do miss the food.

Gerrymandering you say?

Is that why this is Texas 35th congressional district? lol. I thought it was the most logical way to make a congressional district.

Democrats win 46 percent to 48 percent of the congressional votes but are able to win only about 34 percent of the congressional seats.

Personal freedom - exclusively limited to alcoholic white men

They start the brainwashing young in Texas. They have their own pledge of allegiance. They study Texas state history. They preach that Texas is the best meanwhile they rank among the worst states for education, income and personal freedom.

Texas is a shithole and I would never live in this dump if my wife and her family weren’t from Houston. Fortunately I love my wife more than I hate Texas.

Everyone needs a place where you can get a deer blind, a Live Laugh Love wooden sign, a chopped brisket sandwich, a four foot Pixy Stick, 12 pack of Hamm’s, a sympathy card & gas without going all over town.

Aside from Beaver Nuggets & a clean bathroom.
