Summit Hochstrom Filter vs bel art tabletop buchner (use with cryo EtOH )

I use a 10” bel art with a 5and 3 micron screen for room temp, put into freezer for 18+ hrs and then i filter theu 1micron and right to the roto. Check ebay i got ny bel art for $80 from a university. The higgere ones have plasric welds and rhey will crack or leak if tour running cold theu the filter

Thanks man, I appreciate it. Didn’t realize people took it through one micron. That’s nice

Is that a separate unit after the filter bag housing? Similar to lenticular?

I’m about to buy the filter bag unit via petroleum chem company in Ireland €2,000, the tax and shipping savings makes it worth buying it here instead thinking putting couple of units in series. I Need to find decent pumps

Yeah it’s a second housing

I ordered one of these to check it out. @Killa12345 can take the 4" to a 12" jacketed spool to keep the ethanol cold while it filters through some sintered discs. A valve on the bottom between the spool and filters can make for an easy swap out of the powders. Being SS you can also cap it and pressurize the spool so you can run both(push/pull).

Is that a challenge?
Lol

I rock a 3000ml buchner and a 5000ml ermeryl flask. 30 gallons filtered in 1hr or so.

Just looking to keep the solvent cold with a jacketed spool while running more volume. Figure the spool can be swaped out depending on volume we want to run. Maybe start out with a 12×12 to see how it goes.

Jacketed and run l2

Now your thinking my bro. The jacket will give us the option to run DI or Ln2 with easy keeping the solvent cold while it filters.

Now we just need some keg tap to 24/40 adapters lol

Going backwards… Just ditch that TC to Tapered joint adapter and clamp that directly to your keg

You would still need some form of vacuum takeoff for a standard beer keg.

A tee with a dip tube (stainless) would suffice, I typically have my stainless shop weld a 1/4" threaded pass through on my kegs though

@Killa12345 think you could get some vacuum take off adapters made 4 beer kegs

Paid €2,500 from petrochemical company in Dublin for this unit and some bags, just need the right pumps for it, was planning on putting two units in series, any advice from group on pump configuration etc is greatly appreciated

Is the cartridge effective at completely removing all the carbon and clay in solution?

I’m looking to get an identical setup but I am wondering if I will just still need to use a table top filter + Celite filter cake to completely remove all carbon and clay

It removes all of it.
