Stain-resistant Flooring Suggestions

Hash labs can be, ehem, messy. What type of flooring is going to be most resistant to chemical and crude staining? I know for sure our old-school vinyl tile flooring certainly doesn’t like the stuff we spill. So far I’m thinking epoxy is the way to go. Any other suggestions?

Epoxy coated concrete or tile floors.

Urethane coatings are about 1/3 the price per square foot. But they’re not nearly as durable as epoxy. I used to work for a painting company that specialized in floor coatings. If you decide to go with urethane or acrylic, regular application of floor wax can go a long way in extending the life of the floor. Epoxy will save you a ton of headache and maintenance though, and really is your best bet in a lab application. I suggest mixing in some abrasive material to reduce slip hazard. “Shark Bite” or another finely shredded plastic would be my number 1 choice as it will give you texture without making it a pain in the ass to clean, but you can use quartz or paint chips if you want a more aggressive texture. It does make it a bit harder to clean, though.
