As much as i want to agree with you. Spray edibles arent going anywhere soon. I know too many people that do this and have steady biz
Is that sarcasm or sincerity? Hard to tell in textā¦
Spray edibles have been prevalent in dispensaries in CA for like 15 years⦠Iām surprised someone like you that has such a big brain with unique industry insight didnāt realize that.
Yes that was sarcasmā¦
Havenāt use these for this purpose but this is a great way to provide coatings for candies and such. Still need to have that perfectly formulated mixture though
Thereās no need to be a dick, @StreetValue. I wasnāt trying to start a fight. I was trying to help, as the market will likely not be sustainable for sprayed edibles. Like I said, it may be something people do now, I just donāt think itāll be long before you see spraying reserved for things like rolling papers, not foods.
Iām happy to refrain from further comment if you find my advice detrimental to your goalsā¦
I think spraying something should be reserved for doing things like making powdered water soluble cannabinoids.
I think @StreetValue might see more benefit from finding a proper coating. But spraying this shit on store bought cereal with a small atomizer with repeatable, effective results is totally doableā¦
Thanks for all the helpful info bro
Anytime and Hope it helps!
@StreetValue so did u ever get down the spray and dosage?
Any updates as to your ratios/mixing? Looking to try and spray flower with the same type of solution mixture you mention.
What about spraying flower with a distillate solution?
I have 2 friends that are using Distillate so I would like to ask everyones best/preferred method to make edibles WITH an accurate dosage of MG. 1 friend is āSpraying/Brushingā it on top of the candy and the other is injecting it with a distillate syringe. They both sprinkle extra sugar on top afterwards. I have heard that both of the stuff they have can be hit or miss in terms of ppl consuming xxx amount of mgs based upon their tolerance but they donāt end up feeling the effect as they would from the usual xxx Mgs they take from more professional brands.
Where are they going wrong with providing the accurate mgās per dosage? What are the āPros & Consā by either Brushing, Dripping or Injecting distillate with the candy? Is it difficult to figure out an accurate mg per dose or are my friends just idiots lol?
I have made gummies from scratch using the āInfusingā them with Shatter along with the coconut oil and Soy Lecithin process and I found a Mathematical Formula online that helped me get to a fairly close measurement within 5 mg per dosage but the presentation of the gummies turned out super average looking and would never stand out/appeal to users scrolling thru different options of edible candy on any random dispensary website.
Ultimately, what would be wiser to do⦠Inaccurately spraying or injecting distillate on a popular candy like Fuzzy Peaches for example vs properly infusing whatever product into amateur looking gummies? If there is a way to precisely measure the mg in the first option, what advice does anyone have?
Simple math
Example
Say you have 100% thc distillate
Make 10 edibles, each edible has 10mg thc.
They donāt have to be amateur looking tbh. If you want like crazy peach ring worms with 5 colors blended in some shit sure that might take some figuring out. If you want baller cubes or shapes with perfect texture and bag appeal thatās super super easy. Covering with sugar or 1/7th citric acid + 7/8 parts sugar always makes them look appealing.
Formulating is very simple assuming you are black market. What I normally do is just roughly calculate at the very end
Figure out potency of distillate. Say 90% = 900mg in one ML of distillate.
Do a test run with x ingredients and figure out roughly how many gummies you can fill with that exact batch. say you end up with 500 gummies. Add 9 grams of distillate.
9 grams + 900 = 8100 MG
8100 MG/500 gummies = 16.2 MG per piece.
Use the same weight of ingredients on each recipe and just wing it.
Toss 10 of these 16.2 mg gummies in a bag, call it a 150mg bag and call it a day.
Yeah my buddy made me some ones where he injected the distillate and they came out shit
Does distillate not work good just injecting into a gummy? Canāt you eat it?
No clue but damn lol
@spacedaddy You need to infuse the gummies in the cooking process⦠So youāll want to melt down the sugar, corn syrup, and gelatin/pectin, and whatever other ingredients, and add the distillate to the melted mixture and make sure you mix VERY WELL⦠Then mix some more.
Then you deposit the mixture into molds, let them cool, and pop the gummies out.
Trying to inject distillate into a gummy is going to suck, but theoretically, you could get pretty accurate/consistent dosing. But no one wants to chew on distillate.
Brushing them is easy but itās inconsistent.
Lol you really had me there for a secondā¦
lol those would be 100mg each
Damn decimal points In my head never move.
Lol
Correct, 100mg per serving. I didnāt want to edit my above post. Thanks for the clarification.
@StreetValue here is a link to the spray gun an old friend uses when he sprays gummies. Amazon.com
Hope it helps. I never really liked his particular product but Im sure it was just his method. After reading this thread Im sure a better, product could be made.
This forum is amazing and so is the information being shared. Thank you everyone.![]()
