Wow, no good. I use to roll through North philly 92/93. Luckily we never ran into any nasty stuff. Did have a buddy who dehydrated banana peels, scrapem & tried to smoke them - damn kids & there anarchistcookbook.

North philly was a war zone in the 90s some parts still are but its gotten a lot better.

I have heard about a 2 parts coconut oil to one part dusty mixture, warmed and sprayed. The food grade ethanol sounds good as well as the pulverized disty dust.
A friend has put kief on nugs without disty and says it sticks very well. So I would assume the pulverized dust would do the same.
The question for me would be which method has the least amount of wasteā¦ Instead of spray (for the ethanol method) or trays (for the frozen dust method) I would use a metal salad bowl and toss the nugs in either dust or ethanol form, in the same manner a cook prepares buffalo wings.
You can control coverage and waste better that way IMO. If the bud is already sticky the dust method should work very well. If the bud is drier, the ethanol method will work well.
Thoughts?

Keep disty neat. Put in paint gun with hopper. Wrap hopper in heat tape to keep disty low visc. Spray onto bud on trays to catch overspray. Enjoy.

Oh yes definitely. Absolutely no matter how you go about this experiment I think the end product will be gross. Effective and safe for consumption? Water seems best. Maybe add in some vacuumed hemp terps after to remediate the nasty chlorophyll/phytol smell. Best solution I can think of. I mainly am just trying to come up with a clean way to do it so I think water is the most viable. No residual solvents
I like your idea. Maybe super terp the melted distillate first to thin it out. Cannabis derived terps are an acceptable residual solvent lol
