Hello,
We have a large amount of a mix with trim and mini buds,
We are looking for a good technique to separate the small buds from the leaves. Ideas is to be able to separate the leaves.
Is there any good technique for this?
As we have half a ton of material to process this would help us a lot !!!
Thanks in advance for anyone that could help us
Thanks for the help.
At the moment we shake different sieves with different size of holes. We take out the smallest leaves and powder to work on some blend, and we have after that the minibuds and many small dried leaves. The point is that we would like to separate the minibuds from the dried leaves.
@anon16547145 listed the bud sorter. You can get a similar machine from a company called Kason. You tell them what you want to do and they will send you the right size screens.
Each screens works by average size that you want to “stay on the screen”. You can have as many layers as you want. You could have 1inch, 1/2inch, 3/8 inch, 1/4 inch and so on. The screens can go down to microns, if you really want to get that fine.
If your mini-buds and dried leaves are the same relative size, but some are long and some are round - you can get a screen that is slotted instead of round holes, or a screen that is square instead of round or slotted.
You need the size or shape to be different for screening/sieving to work at all.
You can also separate things by weight, but its much more complicated. It takes a lot longer and I’m not really sure that what you have won’t work based on size.
There are bigger weight sorters out there - but I don’t know that they can handle things that are so small. Seed sorter is probably your best option if you cannot get it go by size/shape.
