Extraction parameters are everything
None whatsoever⌠I suggest you read up on winterization. (Search results for 'Winterization' - Future4200)
Yeah, there are folks who think it is just adding solvent and removing itâŚbut that is NOT the correct procedure.
@Onceovertwice did not state the filtration step explicitly, but removing the fats and waxes is implicit in âwinterizeâ
Thanks for making that clear. Iâm just playing with stuff. And learning.
ahh, thats why i was asking, i already extract at -20c and filter with vacuum assistance. so fats and lipids are already almost none existent.
Ehhhhh, not at those temps they arenât
Atleast imoâŚ
(In regards to extracting with hydrocarbons with no dewax column)
im using etoh, maybe im wrong though
Idk shit about etoh. Haha
I suspect that fat/wax pickup depends very much on how long you soak at -20c.
Youâll certainly pick up some at that temp, but itâs not too bad if youâre quick (qwet) about it
The only way to know how much you can drop out of your extracts is to try it.
7:1 EtOH to extract, 24hrs on dry ice. You might not be able to filter it out, but it should give you a good visual indicator
Even at -60, your extract is 5-10% fats and lipids. Put that shit in Ethanol and let it sit at -60 for 24 hours and see what you pull out.
I ended up trying this as well , held out didnt re sugar but I wouldnât say tasted great. Didnât add terps
