The very 1st cart I made about 6 years ago had PEG or PG cant remember which. Back then we didn’t have the tech and knowledge we have today.
Of course there are many members here who smoked shit in the past they would not smoke now and its a good thing they are warning others with wisdom not bro science. The members you are knocking have helped many others here and trying to help you too.

That’s exactly what I am saying here. When we make claims let’s back them up with proof otherwise we are spreading misinformation that can be potentially dangerous.
Has there not been sufficient proof of the dangers of cutting agents put out over the last year by the scientific community? Read through some of the floraplex threads. No shortage of info on this site alone.
And @Demontrich, you start cutting with unicorn piss, and I’ll buy at least one for the novelty (not to consume, that’s fucking gross just like consuming the secretions from beaver’s anal glands, which I am sure we all inevitably and unknowingly have consumed). Sometimes, even if it is completely safe and benign, the ick factor is enough to dissuade even the most hardened of souls. Couple ick factors with science showing dangers, and one has the recipe for consumer distrust and disgust, imho.

I really don’t care about cuts one way or another . I cut because I medicate for add and can’t be getting baked during the day while working. My issue is with people making claims withOut any supporting evidence.
Is there a reason then that CBD can’t be used as your cutting agent to reduce potency and allow for all day consumption without as intoxicating effects?
And while I can’t speak to other individual’s specific reasoning, I can say that most of the people in this thread have been posting research to back up their claims. This is something we, as a community, have been actively and passionately arguing for quite some time. For many of us, this (dangers of cutting agents) is common knowledge at this point in the game.

My family are huge cart users and I don’t like them vaping distillate and fake terps.
My customers petitioned me to use straight cut, no disty. If I had my own reactor, these carts would cost me $3 a piece. I brought a $7 distillate cart out and everyone prefered the $3 100% cut cart.

I absolutely use cbd distillate and have been for awhile. Here’s the thing: this post was me asking about if I needed to winterize shatter. I have no experience with shatter. I made two sample carts with liquidizer just to see how well this shatter held up. I never asked for anyone’s opinions on cuts because I know this topic had been beat to death on multiple boards. I come from a academic background and there are real issues with asserting claims but not providing supporting evidence.

There will be a cartridge later on this year that’s design will be for waxy material. As of right now you will have a bad tome with waxes as they need a higher temperature to vaporize and leave behind residue that eventually clogs your coil’s sponge.

Yeah that’s what I was wondering. I was just gonna do ethanol wash and winterize and distill.
If you want to cart hydrocarbons without using distillate, you should have a centrifuge in your toolbox. But you previously expressed that you have no interest in making a sellable product. Consider using distillate to cut your carts to cut down the percentage of waxes

It reeaallllyyyy sounds like you should mix some CBD distillate in wax. Melt 70% wax and 30% cbd disty by weight together n add some terps to make it a vapable consistency and a great flavor. Sure, artificial terps arent ideal but if you really are doing it for personal and care for quality you can use cannabis derived. But imo most shatter doesnt really have a good enough taste to vape on its own, especially when mixed with CBD and your gonna need it to act as a solvent to make it a vapeable consistency. If CBD is below 60% it shouldnt crash out if it is mixed really well together with wax and terps. CBD is the best dilutent for just watering the THC down as well as making it more of a liquid when it heats up. They come out better than any Dank or TKO with a more well rounded feeling that you dont really get Tooooo fried off of, they are actually pretty fuckin nice n euphoric especially if you use fire wax and quality full specy CBD oil. These are made with 57.5% full spectrum CBD oil, 37.5% shatter and 5% Forbidden Fruit botanical from Denver Terpenes. I have special CBD oil that wont crash out on me so i can use more CBD in it than shatter. Flavor makes your mouthwater and you get full bodied effects.

Yeah I’m using cannabis derived right now and wished I would have never messed with botanical. Huge difference.
Try to get ahold of some live resin diamond mother. You can pour it straight in a pen. And it tastes like candy… the only bad part is you’ll never want to smoke shatter again

Terpenes’ thermal degradation products are known carcinogens. Granted, most of us have been smoking these along with pesticides on our flower for decades. This is one of many studies published in scientific literature on the subject:

If Terps are bad and peg is bad, I’m going with Terps because if an unknown is going to take me out I’m not going out smoking something that taste like fake deer piss. Imho.

Tbh when starting up I wanna make the most
And 1ml keeps me from having to go buy double the hardware
But for personal carts I want .5ml. I gotta buy an extra cart w the .5ml. For business that’s bad.
You have to figure out what your customers want then work from there. If they want 1gs go with a slightly more expensive cart that will work and not clog up half way through

Do you also find that people generally prefer 0.5ML’s? I do agree that the coil always will hold up better on a smaller volume. From a budget standpoint a lot of people just don’t care if they save $10 by going up to the gram size. So many people are paycheck-to-paycheck that that’s of no interest to them. Then people like me would rather get two different kinds any day of the week.
Also I think anything that reduces how heavily a disposable $2 cartridge gets used is better. From a safety standpoint I can’t help but assume that if you tested the last 0.1ML of oil in a half gram and the last 0.1ML left in a full ML cart you’re going to see nastier stuff in the remnants of the full gram. Between getting the oil itself getting heated twice as many times, the coil getting twice as sludged up, and last the amount of time the metals will spend stewing with hot volatiles I think 0.5ML’s are probably in the best interest of our lungs long term. Seeing this increase in clean tested carts coming back failing for heavy metals later on makes me think cartridges should be getting filled to order like a damn ice cream cone on site and used for short term.
