I would just like to reiterate these words of wisdom. sometimes too old is just too old…
I’ve got two beckman that both died of old age. the control electronics on both was failing at the component level by the time we got to playing with them.
it’s really no fun to get one working then have another unobtainable or unidentifiable component go out, especially when the OEM laughs at the request for a fine manual or replacement parts.
Ive got a Sorval we picked up for free than I might get to playing with shortly…hoping it’s (even older) electronics are more robust than the beckmans.
