I’m on the side of you’re not gonna get much out of the mushroom dry pressing.

If you’re going to try pressing. Treat it like hash rosin. I’d grind to powder then do the normal song and dance.

Trehalose melting point is 97c

Actives are much higher.

This is fun info… do with it as you will

I just appreciate people saying fuck it and giving it a whirl. More people trying leads to discovery

I literally just walked back to my office to ask you this - appreciate you knowing exactly where my head is at

As far as pressing a fresher sample - at this point i’m doing the ‘ya work with what ya got’ stage. I wanted to do a bit of housecleaning just in case I uh…well lost my fucking shit doing this and I can at least have a clean house if shit goes sideways and I’m Syd Barreting

I do have to say though - as far as ‘dried’ mushrooms go, it’s less on the bone dry end and more on what you would consider a pretty good nug cure. Def. a squish to it but slightly.

Running some arctic circle grown Chaga mushrooms with R134a.

First run yielded literally nothing so I soaked the Chaga for 24 hours in a solution of 90% water/10% hydrogen peroxide so that the raw material is rehydrated and the chitin walls are broken down.

Gonna run this through a low temp distillation to clean up and seperate.

I don’t think psilocybin and R134a are the best combo when you have great info already on how to crystallize the active compounds and that seems like the best route.

But for nutraceutical compounds and aroma and flavor compounds it works very well.

If this makes the Comerg Tek a contender, I’d be so happy for George.

Did you do it? What happened?

I love the taste. I kinda wish there was a way to strip the flavor off them and add that flavor into chips.

About to do it now - just in case it was…too…successful I wanted to make sure all my errands were done, haha

As in green machine labs?

So I just gave it a shot at 210f to give it a bit more above the melting point and with a 25 micron bag nothing came out - I am assuming warmer or something but that was a good 5g chunk pressed and no output. Better luck next time with different parameters maybe?

At least it was tried

If you manage to do it successfully record and post it. Would make a good time lapse.

God help me for saying this but you get it. Why the fuck does things that are easily doable need to remain theoretical because it seems stupid. Oh well. You might not be a rockstar and it might not produce fireworks - oh well. It’s done and now we can say at least pressing those at 210f with a 25 micron bag…is a bad idea and the reason is…nothin` happens - probably needs to be hotter if you ask me.

I never thought about extraction, because orange juice and a blender was always so easy. Maybe if you did that first, then dried most of the water out, then pressed that, well at least it might taste like oranges.

As a wise man once said, “Yeah science!”

I’m sad it didn’t work but I’m hoping it does and I hope you nail it.

Would be cool as hell to see pressed psilocybin extract.
