Rosin press go brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Usually if i’m making jam I’d do the bake at like 200-225f and 100f on the heat mat. Personally I have my own tricks that make the cure nice and quick for CC. Let me down a couple coffees and i’ll snag a picture of some stuff I pressed out around Monday that’s totally finished and ready to go in the jar now

Happy Friday, too! Stoked to finally hit a show later on tonight and give myself a night out.

I need to do some more reading into the heat cure process. But word! Sounds great bro. I am excited about the possibilities of this ultrasonic cleaner - In my head, you would preserve more terpenes in doing the cold cure within hours of press, and accomplishing it in 2 hours vs days seems to me that you’d retain more terps? Anxiously waiting to see lowtemps COA results on a traditional CC vs the ultrasonic.

Dude honestly I want to see the same. Personally I want to do full testing on a jar that was pressed STRAIGHT into the jar with no taffy or agitation at all vs. one that’s been fully taffied up vs. the ultrasonic. I mean it’s been pretty much accepted that if you’re doing taffy tek you’re working out a lot of the terps to make things lighter so I wonder if there’s a happy medium in post processing that allows you to keep more of the terps around yet not have to sacrifice content for ‘jar appeal’.

That was pressed like Monday or Tuesday but with a bit of coaxing is now bleeding terps like nobodys business. Love it.

Fuck it heres some more pics.

Absolutely beautiful bro! Completely agree on wanting the COA’s on the unagitated material vs the taffied vs the ultrasonic. That’ll be super interesting. I can’t believe you got those terps bleeding like that so fast!

Thanks man! Honestly it just comes from fucking around and finding out. The dumber the experiment the better. Hell, putting jars of absolute garbage in a coffee maker told me a lot about how material reacts to temp changes and the like. Part of me wants to send a FUCKTON of electricity through a jar and see what happens eventually.

But i’ve noticed that when I pour straight into some jars you get absolutely stupid terps but retain way more of the original color that comes out when you press it collecting it after the fact which will scare away the whole ‘I ONLY SMOKE WHITE ROSIN’ crew but to anyone that wants knock-you-on-your-ass terps it’s the way to go.

I love that lmao the dumber the experiment the better. Shocking a jar of rosin…now there’s an idea! Letting this jar that just came out of the bath sit for a second then I’ll get some pics…here’s some from the press the other night though! That looks great! Are you doing that “clear tek” to the bags before pressing it?

I got the same magnet on my press too! Probably the same press :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I am! I just started doing the cleartek a few presses back, and I love it. Do you not do that? I found it cuts down on the time needed to pre-grease quite a bit, and it always comes out looking super clear (duh) haha

Haven’t whipped yet. came out of the bath 10-20 mins ago

Damn that lightened it up fast! I wonder what that would do to a terpier press that doesn’t thicken up into traditional CC because of the terps!

But I haven’t done it yet, every time i’m about to press some bags I get so happy just to press em I forget to do it like that. I gotta really remind myself next time to try it in a few days

Hmmmmm I also wonder. I haven’t been fortunate enough yet to find a cultivar that was so high in terps that it didn’t turn into a wet badder / thicker consistency after whipping.

Dude, you definitely gotta try it! I like it cause I also was intermittently having trouble getting the hash to lay nice, flat and even inside the bag prior to pressing. Tried some cheap china prepress mold with limited success.

edit: vaccing them seemed to help get all of that hash to lay down nice, and fill in any cracks/spots that weren’t filled

To be totally honest I’ve rarely used pre-presses, I mainly just do a 0psi (til the needle jumps and immediately goes back down, really) 0 degree prepress straight in the bag with parchment around it so it doesn’t get stuck to the plates. It’s sort of my ‘divining rod’ if you will on what to expect when I’m pressing. If I get a bag that’s solid as a fucking rock that is sticky on the outside from a 0 degree prepress with hash that’s still cold from being stored in the freezer then…

But i’m totally going to try to clear press tek because why not? Yours looks great like that! Time to give it a shot!

A post was merged into an existing topic: Can I separate fats and waxes from my hte using a centrifuge?

This is how we are handling the inherit heat from the ultrasonic cleaner
Chiller on a coil to keep the water at a constant 70*f no ice needed
Works great
Set it and forget it

Deff give the vac a try man, I love it just for the fact that it really sticks the press bag fold in place to avoid any slippage. Saves a ton of time that I was taking .1 globs from the previous pressed bag and using to glue shut the next bag getting pressed.

I did it a few days ago and honestly I really like it! Doesn’t do anything extra for the post processing or anything but I like the idea that I can see right through what I’m pressing and making sure there’s no junk in there that’ll fuck up how nice my smoke is. Actually have a stack of bags I just vac’d down that i’m getting ready to press after this coffee (big surprise)!
